I'm kind of old fashioned when it comes to dating and the such but I'm curious if it is now socially okay for the girl to ask. I would love for my boyfriend to ask me but if he doesn't by the time I'm ready to would it be weird and would he take offense if I asked him?

No of course it wouldn't be weird, if your certain about him.
I know of many situations where the girl popped the question.
Why would he take offense? Most blokes would find it very flattering.

It is not "weird." It is less common for a girl to propose. My mother actually proposed for my sister. She asked the boy friend, "when are you going to marry my daughter?"
He did. They now have children and grandchildren.
It can happen. Before you dive in, try bringing up the subject of marriage. You can then Gage your boyfriend's reaction. If he jumps up, grabs his coat and runs out the door, you won't have to go through the stress of proposing.

I can't really say because I do not know your boyfriend personally. But I do know A LOT of females that has proposed to their boyfriends. I guess it depends on the person. But I would take a shot at it.

Its weird, uncommon, but as you say, socially ok, even for old-fashioned (it has nothing to do with that, really, my great-grandma proposed to HER husband, it was amusing, and it all worked out great). Sometimes guys need a little nudge.

As you know, two people are never exactly alike. It might be best for you to ask the big question. I'm sure if history had a way to keep score. It would be a tight race.

I think it is ok for the girl to propose. He should not take offense, he should take pride that she cared enough to ask. Good Luck.

I think it would be hot to be asked by the girl.. Not sure how marriages turn out when they are created in this manner however... hmm

Depends on the guy, does he support traditional values, then don't ask, if he's apt to new things, then hell yeah, ask him whenever you want. You know the guy better than anyone else, what do you think his reaction will be? Personally, I think it would be sweet if my g/f propose to me, but it'll never happen,. . .
