The dead do speak.

Problem is, most people don't listen. They have been told from birth that the dead don't speak, they are too afraid to listen, or they feel that in listening, they will hear something they do not want to hear.

But, as you can see from the answers so far, there are very few who will disagree with your statement, because so few of us will listen.

"There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dream't of in your philosophy." Even Shakespeare knew this.

From reading all the other answers, it seems that most don't know their Bible that well. The dead in fact do talk, read Luke 16:22

22 And it came to pass, that the begger died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bossom: the rich man also died, and was buried.

So it looks like they are dead to me, wouldn't you say?

23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bossom.
24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

Sounds like not only can they talk, but can also see, feel, speak, think, and hear.

Men existi after the death, so they CAN speak, and think and feel... I belive in every word of the Bible, so the most important question is where we will spent the eternity. It's a big question and it should't be taken for granted.

For God so loved the man in this world, so he gave His only begotten Son, so whoever believes in Him, shall not perish but have an eternal life. (Jonh 3 :16)

Believe in Lord Jesus and the first minute on the other side, you'll talk to Him.

No you are right, but read 1st and 2nd Samuel and you will SEE that it is an evil spirit that impersonates the dead. It also CAUSED a LIFE. I will let you read it so you may learn who died because of what happened that way you will learn.

Not with actual words, but a good forensic scientist will be able to find out a lot of things. What they ate, what sort of lifestyle they had, any sort of diseases they had. Archaeologists do this all the time.

Hmmmm?

well of course not. Demons mimic the dead, as the bible states when a person dies their thoughts perish.
