Can anyone tell why do we prefer English in all the areas rather than using our rashtrabhasha-Hindi?

Because you in India have the great advantage of speaking both languages.

We in Europe have the great advantage also of speaking two languages, but I am afraid to say, Hindi is not one of them.

In addition, I would like to mention one very important thing, maybe it can also console you:
In my opinion it is a privilege for our and your languages that they are not the world language, because a universally used language (that was certainly also the case with Latin as a lingua franca) are in danger of being reduced to such basic forms and structures that they become so primitive they are dying.
If you see how the beautiful language of William Shakespeare is treated throughout the word today, not only on the internet but also by some politicians in the White House, for example, then you will certainly realise that it is better for our languages to be spared this fate.

In response to some of the above answers:
English is NOT a superior language!
English WAS a very IMPORTANT language before it was perverted by whoever!
English is exactly NOT easier if you want to know it really, it is only easier on the primitive level on which most clowns use it today.

By all means: keep you rashtrabhasha-Hindi in high esteem!!!
Good luck!

Because India has a number of languages. Everybody has his own mother-tongue. Don't you think we need one common language to interact and communicate with each other. It could have been either Hindi or any other local language. But due to language politics, other than caste and religion politics, we Indian could not arrive at a consensusual language. Even our states are created/demarcated based on the language spoken by its people. This way, English prevailed over India as we Indians are impressed by the The English because of colonial hangover and started treating English and the English to be superior. Now, Indians are in a vicious circle of languages. They need to learn their mother tongue, Hindi and English. Then where is the energy and courage left in a small child to learn other subjects. Chinese, Japanese and CIS states are examples of the countries which value their own language over English. They have not let English take over their culture and psyche.

Because people who speak only English are not usually smart enough to learn a language like Hindi. But, people who speak Hindi are usually smart enough to learn a language like English. In the new world economy, one language is needed for trade and communication. Even the Chinese are having to learn English. (I learned a little Hindi in college. Beautiful language.)

Because English is the most widely used language in the world. If Hindi is our Rashtrabhasha, English is the Worldbhasha. It is the international language.

because it avoids quarelling about which native language to choose. Better to take option from outside than creating griefs, isn't it?
Even while traveling India i noticed english is not widely spoken, like around Madras i was surprised to see french is widely spoken. Then some indian can speak only Tamil and french and be unable to understand another who speak only english and Hindi...
Language is a wealth don't get poor crushing others with one official language but there is need of wide understanding.
For this superficial knowledge of english, even if not most spoken one, most widely spread, seems appropriated coz it is quite easy both to learn, write and pronounce.

English is probably the easiest language on this earth. You just learn 26 alphabets and you are ready to read and write, no messing up with the alphabets to create new alphabets or sounds. It is the non-pictorial language and do not need any artistic talent to write it. You may not speak proper English but it is easy to write perfect English with minimal grammatical mistakes, easy way to rectify the errors with a spell-check, just see how many language support spell check on the web, you will have the answer to your question. In today's world there are too many technical and informative details available in English then any other Language. Language should not be considered as barrier of patriotism. You can be patriot even by not knowing your "Rasthrabhasha" important is how devoted you are to your country. People make it a issue for no reason.
