I have always run Firefox on my machine. I now have Firefox 2 and have found that it has started to use 100% of the CPU, especially after going onto my email. Even when I close Firefox down, it still block up the CPU and I have to reboot to clear the problem. Does anyone have any answers to this? Is there anything that can be done?

Firefox 2 is still in RC1, i.e. not the final release. There are bound to be some small bugs still to resolve. You shouldn't need to reboot, just ctrl-alt-del into the process list and see which one is taking all the CPU and stop it.

I find this interesting because I usually surf with my task manager open so I can monitor my CPU, and as of today I've never seen my Firefox browser suffer from any kind of memory leaks. In my opinion it sounds like your computer. I could be wrong though. Sorry, no suggestions to help you

i'm so satisfied that i stumbled on your post as we talk. i have been having the very similar difficulty with Firefox as you and that i have 1Gig of RAM! Like your self, I have stumbled on that not one of the favourite options artwork. After wrestling with this for a at the same time as now, i will anticipate the subsequent improve of Firefox. If this memory difficulty isn't addressed, i'm utilizing yet another browser.
