As always things might have been fabricated just to make you believe she is a virgin even though she is not any more (no offenses to ladies) but how would you know? will doc tell you, will you believe it as a fact from your gf? phisically? My parents made me go on to engage with a girl whom my parents claim is still a virgin. It's big deal for us (me and my relatives) not to get offended by such a non traditional virtual of a girl losing her virginity before marriage.

Hmmm . . . that's nice.

There is no SURE way to tell. HOWEVER . . . you're supposed to be able to tell by looking at the girl's hymen to see if it's intact. Sports and even accidents are said to be able to tear it though. I've never researched that extensively (although I should, because I'm a virgin and I'd also like to marry a virgin). Wikipedia is as good a place as any to start:

Good luck!

I'm taking it Stanley , by your parents forcing an engagement and your English that you are not from the UK or States , or a recent immigrant . In the US and UK there are revirginization operations , which are probably not performed where you are from since true virginity is highly prized there . The virginal genitals can be reformed in one of these operations . Normally , a "true" virgin will have an intact hymen and technically will not have engaged in any type of intercourse ( oral , vaginal, or anal) . The "hymen test" can be performed by a doctor , but unfortuneatly is highly unreliable because trauma ( like falling off a bike ) can rupture the hymen .
The real question is if you really want to marry this girl you are going to have to learn to trust her . Do you doubt your mother was a virgin when she married your father ? What causes you to doubt this girl than? If you don't have a legitimate reason for not believing her you need to reconsider continuing your engagement.

Many girls will still have a hymen, but it can be broken in other ways, such as by playing sports. Even girls with intact hymens do not always bleed the first time they have sex.

There's no way to tell, really. A gynecologist might be able to, but not by looking at the outside.

If your parents are satisfied, you should be, too.

There is no outwardly physical way to determine. Have you asked her? Talked to her about this? Privately? This is a delicate and private matter for females. You need to ask her gently and without seeming to be accusing her of not being a virgin. After you talk to her, then you can make a decision, however don't you dare go informing others of her virginal state without her permission. That would be wrong of you.

i conclude by your reasoning that this is an issue of importance in your community/religion/culture. it follows then that your girlfriends parents are equally aware of the importance and so should not be inclined to lie over this issue. it comes as a matter of trust then, do you or do you not believe them and her. medically the hymen should be intact but this is not conclusive proof of virginity- the hymen may be broken for a number of reasons. a doctor should be able to determine if there has been penetration but again would they disclose this, it would be a serious breach of patient/client confidentiality to disclose this sort of information, in some countries if a doctor breached this oath of confidentiality it could result in criminal and civil liability. in short you know your girlfriend unless of course it is an arranged marriage- either way it comes down to trust- do you or don't you believe in her and her family.

The doc can tell. If you are not a virgin, you should also be able to tell during your first time together.

Isn't all this just a bit medieval. Can't you tell all these people to mind their own business or if you can't manage that then tell them she bled like a stuck pig. Do you have to prove that you are a virgin?

well unless something happened when she was younger, her hymen would still be intact.

There's ways of finding out without actually having intercourse.
