I've got one of those horrible spots where it feels bruise when I touch it? It doesn't look like a normal spot, it's just a raised lump (on my cheek so it looks like I've been punched!!), I've had them a couple of times before and always end up picking them to get rid of them, but then I get a scab. How can I get rid of it before Christmas?? I've tried holding my face over a bowl to steam it and open the pores, I've tried using drawing lotions and I've tried Clearasil but nothing works!! Any ideas!??!

No don't squeeze it! You'll bruise the skin around it and it will look very red and inflamed - particularly with a spot of this calibre and particularly on the cheek. What always works for me is bicarbinate of soda toothpaste - smear a reasonable amount over the top. I always leave it on overnight - if you don't have to go out or anything today then leave it on for as long as you can. It doesn't make it magically disappear but it reduce the redness etc. In the meantime don't put anything on your skin like make up or anything because this will aggrivate the spot.

First of all, DO NOT PICK THE SPOT!!! Resist all temptation, difficult I know, but do not pick the spot.
Now, keep your skin clean. Use a clean flannel every day, use a mild soap (not detergents, not Clearasil, not expensive cosmetic products). Use something like Pears soap, lightly lather on the flannel, wash your face and rinse well with cool water.
Rinse the flannel well and always keep it clean, change it every day.
Wash your hands frequently and always before touching your face, so you don't transmit dirt or bacteria to your skin. If you have long hair, keep it away from your face.
What you are going through is normal adolescent skin eruptions which is mostly due to hormonal changes. You can change your diet and things like that, but ultimately it is your hormones going bonkers and there is little that you can do until it calms down. Don't worry, it will.
Until then, just keep your face clean. Any spots that come up with run their course and quickly clear but I'm afraid this is something you are going to have to live with.

it feels bruised because of the spot being under the skin. If it is not visible, dont pick!
leave it until after christmas, just keep it clean and grease free!

The spot should go down and disperse itself.

You should never pick spots! ever seen Bryan Adams up close - its not pretty!!!!!

ew i hate them kind, they dont come often but when they do they are a big pain! i try to squeeze it, i know there is no head and that you should not do it, but if you try i find it helps to bring it to a head and then you can get rid of it. (how good does that feel when you have got it out!) then i treat it with some witch hazel and dont touch it!

First don't pick them you make scars that will take months to get rid of. Try face cleansers to remove makeup and dirt from your pores, and moisturizes if you are dry

I think it's a spider nevus, very common. I have one and i cover it up with light mascara which suits my skin tone; you can get laser treatment on it, ask your doctor, obviously not for tommorow, just saying.Anyway, if i have no concealer i wear lots of blush/foundation.
