I'm trying to find the words to an 'infantile' worship song that I heard at a Women's Aglow meeting (yes, men were invited!) in Blackpool a couple of months ago, so I can analyze them in my house group in a few weeks. Sadly, the song in question was not one I was familiar with, so can't give you much detail.

Basically, it was a modern praise chorus. It was all about Christ, so it wasn't 'infantile' in the sense of being 'me centred.' The thing that made it mediocre was that it amounted to a pathetic patchwork of biblical phrases describing Christ and his work, thrown together without the least bit of thought.

I'm afraid I can't give you more detail than that - anyone any ideas what it could have been?

Many thanks in Christ,
Graham

Erm, yeah I appreciate it's a tall order. All I can add is that it was obviously a worship song that's "doing the rounds" at the moment. I can't remember the lyrics in any detail, but if the following "caricature" reminds you of anything specific then send me the title and I'll look it up on g**gle :-)

Son of David /
Crucified /
Lamb of God /
You're the best! /
Jesus, Jesus /
I worship you /
Blessed be your name

This was the kind of thing I meant when I said it was a "pathetic patchwork."

Thanks to all for your help so far!

Graham

That's tough, I wouldn't know how to begin finding the answer myself. I suggest contactign the organizers of the event and asking for a song list. I bet they'd be happy to help out.

I suggest you contact other members of your house group. they may have a better memory - or contact the organisers.
the phrases you mentioned fit many hymns but not altogether - that I can remember.
Sorry I can't be more help.
