Societies Problems can be summed up in 3 categories.
Materialistic. We are so in love with money that we don't care about anything else.
Selfish. Most people only care about the well-being of themselves.
Modern Music (Hip Hop). It is marketed to 10-13 year old kids. The content of their songs is so graphic sometimes I shudder, and I curse all the time. By Hip Hop being so popular, it also creates followers that feel the should live the "thug" lifestyle. From Hip Hop, they start believing crime and violence are cool, and thus crime rates in America have never been higher.

Actually, society can REGRESS past its problems more than it can "evolve" (in the leftwing progressive sense) past them.
Think about the turn of the 20th Century. We didn't have feminazis to contend with. The man knew his place in society and so did the women folk. Only the so-called "progress" of the feminist movement brought new problems to the forefront. We didn't have the dual-income paradigm to contend with back then. We didn't have to deal with pay-equity issues. Women stayed home and raised children, and housework, period!
Look what happened during Hurricane Katrina: When the functions of civil society broke down, women were forced to sleep within a protective "wagon-wheel" circle of males in the SuperDome, to stop them from being raped....just like the law of the jungle. And you can be sure, that if this phenomenon went on for a period of weeks rather than days, the male "protectors" would have been demanding payment in the form of "booty" for that protection.
Perhaps what we need is REGRESS, not so-called "progress" to solve our most vexing social ills.

Good one! My opinion is no...
As the population grows and new technology allows information to spread at the speed of light, people have lost their focus on individual problems and become exposed to the chaotic events occurring everywhere.
This constant barrage of bad news and info creates a huge amount of stress that overwhelms anyone who seeks to find real answers.

if you look through ALL history, there is a common fabric in all changes, things have to get much worse for everyone. many empires have totally collapsed before they realized they needed to change, so as I see it history will continue to repeat itself and in the future ..maybe the near future the entire world monetary values will collapse and then the world will HAVE to change in order to save each other.then we will be able to put past problems behind us, when we are all finally equal, actually equal
smile
good luck
Merry Christmas to all
