Does life come from God? Are we just people living here on earth? Or are we beings that will live in eternity in heaven or hell? If we will live one place or another in eternity then did God provide a way for us to live in heaven and escape hell? Did Jesus come as our savior to save us from an eternity in hell as he said he did? Or was he just a prophet?

So sorry if I disillusion anyone so close to Xmas. Yes he was a prophet, not the first and not the last.
Like a lot of good prophets he made the mistake of upsetting to powers that be and he got too political.
Some of his message is a bit dated in these days of technology etc. But he was a good man. That is all!
I consider myself as spiritual as any go to church on Sunday Christian, and far more so than those who follow any belief or religion in blind faith.
I think Jesus would expect us to question, after all he did.

I am Jewish so i Must say yes he was a prophet HOWEVER all the answers you have including mine are irrelevant here. We must look at the bigger picture Jesus has a meaning to meach and every one of us even if we don't believe he was God's son. His teachings are as important today as they were then. In reply to you He was God's son to most and a prophet to others

The simplest way to answer this is
Muhammad died and was buried
Buddha died and was buried
Jesus died and was buried
Only one tomb is empty - Prophets do not return from death.
to those that say if Jesus was God then he could not have been flogged and died by human hands. If that was true then you have a God that cannot do anything, there fore he would not be a God.

No, he was not JUST a prophet, he was the only perfect person to exist, because he was God in a human form.

no. Jesus was not a prophet, nor a messiah, nor a God(any moreso than we all are anyway)
he was a great mystic, a Kabbalist and a good guy. I have no doubt he believed everything he said, and I think he'd be ashamed of how what he tried to do has been corrupted and and altered, utterly misunderstood from what he meant.

To sistablu, did Jesus question his own self? He told us who he is and why he came to earth. He gave us his word. Why do you cite him as one whose expectations of us should be fulfilled if you don't believe in him or what he came here for?
