I agree. But it all depends on how things ended between you and that person. But general, you will always have feelings for your 1st love because that was as real as it could have been, and your first love is usually filled with optimistic hopes for the future and great planning. Once that ends, a person gets bitter.
Personally, I will always hold my first love in a special place in my heart. Sound corny, but it's true. I care a lot for him and hope to remain friends or at least, know how he is doing. I honestly wish the best for him. I do not have the same feelings for him as before, but truthfully, I guess there will always be those romantic feelings. We could never just be friends... so we are distant friends, and just check up on each other to say hello and see how we are doing.

First love : dont u think the word itself is a complete love story.
take this when u cmplete a difficult task for d first time all by urself it gives you satisfaction ,pleasure and reason 2 love yourself. but can u feel d same thing when u do that thing for over n over again the above feelings fade away
In d same way in d first love you feel the ecstacy of relationship ,a new feeling of being in love and being loved by some one else .
that some one is so especial 2 u , as he is unlike anyone u know in this world

I have been happily married for 33 years and love my wife. However, to answer your question, YES. I will always have feelings and a little love in my heart for BOTH of my first loves.

I still have pictures of us.
I moved off when we were in high school and he went wild but
I still having feelings for him and that has been 20yrs ago.
I would have still taken him back about 10yrs ago but I heard he had some kind of disease.
But I will always love him and care for him. He said he would always love me too.
You just do and I don't know why.

well, my knight in shining armor turned out to be a jerk in an aluminium roll. i have to say, what we had was special while it lasted. but we all know all good things come to an end. and to me, no you will not always love the person. and no, i do not have feelings for him anymore. the feelings are just-gone. have a nice day.

unfortunately yes. most will especially if it was a young love. mine was in highschool. i actually ran into him a few times at the mall a few years ago. he was with his girlfriend. we didn't talk or anything but my stomach twisted and i got nervous. love a tricky thing. i will never love him, but i will always remember him since he was my first true love.
