.........thrown up poop??? I'm serious! I am really sick and I have actually been vomiting diarrhea (a lot of it).........gross, I know, but I want to know if it's ok. I know it's not normal, but is it a big deal? It's like the third time I have done it in my life, but I am kind of embarrassed to say anything. Here it's totally anonymous, so much easier to say it's happening. I can't see asking my mom or something.......I'd be so embarrassed. I feel silly asking you all and I will never have to face you, so someone I have to see......out of the question! Well, unless someone knows FOR SURE that it can hurt me. So........any ideas??? REAL IDEAS PLEASE......DON"T BE RUDE JUST BECAUSE THIS IS GROSS! I'm a little scared..........thanks!

Some people seem to think it's not possible to vomit poop. It is. Look up Dr G. Medical Examiner, I did after I posted this. If your intestines get too full it has to go somewhere, so it backs up and comes out of your mouth. Gross, yes, but I just wanted to say that I found that yes, it is possible. I'll tell my mom in the morning. Or tonight if she wakes up. Thank you all who answered honestly and with compassion. I am too young for this to happen!!! That's why I am scared too because I am still in high school and so I don't want anyone to know about this. But being my age if this realy is bad then when I get older what if it gets worse. I know it is stupid to worry about that. But I am sick so I think I am being emotional.

I am noticing a few people thinking it doesn't seem possible that poop could make its way back up through all of the twists and turns and supposedly one-way doors of the intestinal tract and then make a grand exit through one's mouth. But it is possible indeed.
For this to occur, there has to be something VERY WRONG with you. Fecal vomiting is most definitely a MEDICAL EMERGENCY that requires IMMEDIATE ATTENTION!
The human body has natural survival reflexes that cause it to expel harmful poisons from within. This explains why vomiting and diarrhea are associated with food poisoning, bacterial or viral infections, and so on -- your body is trying to get rid of bad things. Even without having poop in it, vomit is not pleasant by any means. Vomiting (technically called "emesis") is when the contents of your stomach are forcefully ejected through the mouth. So how would poop get back into your stomach?
It is in the intestines when food takes on the characteristics of poop -- not in the stomach. In normal digestion, once food has left the stomach and descended into the small intestine as a liquidy substance called "chyme," it is usually well on its way to the large intestine and then out of the body through the rectum. The valves that pass the chyme from each section of the bowels are pretty much one-way access.
But as we all know, sometimes things are not always as they should be.
Pretty much the only thing that can cause things to go in reverse here is an obstruction in the bowel. An obstruction can either cause things to slowly pile up -- leaving a foot in the door, so to speak -- or can trigger a spasm in the muscles of the intestinal walls that forces the contents of the bowels back into the stomach.
Where things really start to get tricky is the underlying cause of the obstruction to begin with. It could be caused by a tumor, a twist or crimp in a section of the intestine, or compacted fecal matter from prolonged constipation that has caused a backup all the way to the opening of the stomach.
Fecal matter is a waste product filled with toxic stuff waiting to exit. It has no business being in the stomach, and the stomach knows it. The victim usually experiences significant abdominal pain and bloating from the obstruction before eventually vomiting.
Again, the most important fact here is that vomiting feces is a MEDICAL EMERGENCY. If you see and smell **** coming out of your mouth, that is your body's way of telling you to get your *** to a hospital NOW. Vomiting the feces out is only buying you a little bit of time. If the obstruction that caused the **** to back up in the first place is not located, cleared, and repaired, really bad things can happen -- things that, if not treated, will most likely result in your death. Sorry to be so blunt, but that is the truth.

sounds like food poisoning to me.. I've experienced a very bad case of it when I was about 13 or 14... It was like you're describing, but in the end when there was no more food left , (this is gross) I started throwing up yellow stuff which looked just like the yellow part of the egg and was reeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaally bitter. My mother ended up taking me to emergency and they told me that with the yellow stuff, it was kind of serious and gave me something to take which made me feel better, but dont remember what it was. The point is, if start throwing up some yellow stuff, go to the hospital immediately.
Another thing I wanted to mention is that you might have gastritis and not know it.. It does cause you to have food poisonings and bad reactions towards lots of foods--more often than other people. Mention it to your doctor, and see if they can do some tests on your stomach.. (since you said that this is your 3rd time)
and just wanted to add that its not actual poop- its food that has already started breaking down in your stomach, which is mixed with the acids that your stomach produces.

Don't worry girl, it's not your fault to have such problem. All of us here think it's a very serious illness to vomit poop. Well, i am sure your mom or dad wouldn't be laughing at you. Instead, they'll be there to help you. I think you should just tell them the problem straightaway and ask them to bring you to the doctor. Before the illness gets any worse. ...May god bless you.
Merry Christmas.

If what you are throwing up looks somewhat like coffee grounds, it could be blood you are throwing up. Even if it is feces that you are throwing up, even once GET MEDICAL HELP! The medical profession is there to help you with anything. You may be embarrassed and I underrstan and appreciate your feelings, but suck it up, and get help. It will not be as difficult as you think. They will be generally concerned and caring. You didnot mention your age. Perhaps you could take a parent or a close friend. They will be allowed to stay with you.

Actually, I have heard of a guy that was so constipated he was vomiting fecal matter. It sounds extremely serious. You need to have medical attention. Don't be embarassed to tell your mom--it's nothing you did wrong. It's a physical problem.

No, I personally have not, but there are conditions where a persons digestive track gets reversed and most of them are VERY SERIOUS CONDITIONS. You need to tell at least one of your parents about this because it needs to be fixed. Don't worry about being embarassed, it's not your fault.
