Why is it when I log on to chat every six months or so it is assumed and pressumed that I am looking for my "dream man"?
Don't people meet face to face anymore?

in this time and age where everything is going so fast, u have no time to go out anymore, so chatting is a way for some people to "go out" and meet new people.
But it is not the only way or the right way...every one does what he can and what he wants

It's an easy way for shy people to conversate but it's more living a fantasy for many.

It's not a very good one. I once tried it and it didn't go very well. I think she had something else in mind.
