Lately, i had began to lost confidence in this religion. some of my friends were already converting to christian, and they kept telling me how awesome the religion is...while some of them succeeded, but some were caught red-handed by their parents, and failed to convert.

My parents kept telling me not to convert, because they say that who will pray to our ancestors if we convert... while in mind, i have a wish to convert... so now i'm in a dillemma ; should i convert or not.... i do have interest in joining christian, and i believe in the christian god,Lord Jesus.... and also, if i am converted what is the first step i should do as a new-converted christian ? please show me the true path..

Please don't let man guide you on your journey seek Jesus with your whole heart... simply pray from the heart and not the mind. Tell Jesus Lord I believe and I receive you in my heart and give you my life....but if this is not what is in your heart don't say it.

You should research Christianity before you make such an important decision. You might also want to wait until you're a little older.

Also, if you like, you can continue to practice Buddhist philosophies while worshiping the Christian God. Christians speak to the souls of their ancestors, because we believe they are in Heaven watching over us.

If you convert, you should love God and follow Jesus' teachings. Reading a children's Bible rather than the adult edition will help you to learn them more quickly. You should also pray as often as you can.

Always remember, the most important part of Jesus' teachings is to love others and to be non-judgmental. :)

Since you said, you believe in" the Christian God, Lord Jesus", that means you already are a Christian. Faith isn't about what religion you belong to or convert to ,it's about what you believe. You just identified yourself as Christian.

Next step: Read the Bible. Start with Matthew and learn the things Jesus said and did.

I wasn't sure how to respond when I was reading your question, UNTIL I read the first sentence of your second paragraph. The answer lies right there in the first part of the sentence!

Please allow me to say that a child who cannot satisfy her parents' simplest wish has no religion at all. I will not want you to convert to my own religion even if I am promised Heaven by the Creator Himself. You will understand what I am saying ONLY when you have a child of your own. God does!

If you truly believe in Jesus, and it sounds like you do,you should be a Christian.Once you become a Christian, try and get a Bible.Read it,and follow God's leading.I know that it may be hard for you to become a Christian because your family is Buddhist. My father is a Buddhist as well.If you ever have any questions about God or you need someone to talk to if you're finding it hard, you can email me through the link on my profile.I'll be praying for you.

Well.....

I am a Buddhist, but I think it is most important to be happy with the religion that you choose. So, if you think that Christianity is more appropriate for you, then yes, you should become a Christian.

Instead of praying TO your ancestors, you can now pray FOR your ancestors. Please do not fall into the mindset that all of your ancestors are going to hell, because they did not choose Christianity. You can make up your own mind about that. The early Christians believed in rebirth (Church of St. James), so, you might want to think of your ancestors as being reborn as Christians, if that makes you feel more comfortable.

Once your parents understand that Christianity, if practiced correctly, is also a religion based upon compassion, and equanimity for one's fellow beings, I'm sure that they will have fewer objections.

You can actually use the words of Lord Shakyamuni in defense of your decision. Read the Kalama Sutra -- The criteria for acceptance and rejection, and in there, you will find argument for following your own heart and mind on matters of religion. Shakyamuni NEVER said that he was absolutely right, and that all must follow him.

Namaste,

--Tom

Don't let anyone stop you! Go ahead and become one! All you have to do is find a church that you like, that does baptisms by immersing you in water, and of course that teaches you about the good Lord! It will be difficult sometimes, but I'm sure you will definitely enjoy it! Pray to God and ask Him to show what you should do!

may the Lord bless you

I can tell you that the Holy Spirit is convicting you. If you want to be a Christian then I think you should. If you accept Jesus Christ as your Personal Savior and you repent, ask forgiveness, and ask Jesus Christ to come into your heart, then He will. Get yourself a Bible and read and study it. The Good Lord has a plan for you and you should follow.

Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are all false religions. Your friends are under pressure to get you to join because they've been manipulated into bringing you in. You don't have to be anything, even though Buddhism is a much more spiritual path than any other, but you can become an atheist, or just step away from your religion until you feel yourself drawn back out of curiosity. But understand this, Christianity is false.

Judaism, Christianity and Islam are the same religion; there were many prophets sent, giving the same message, But, according to Islam, Jews provoked the wrath of God, because of their behaviour, and Christians went astray of Jesus' real message, which you will learn it in Islam's holly book, the Quran; that book is a miracle itself; God promised its preservation. I suggest you to approach to Islam through other Muslims who can respond your questions...
