What is an example of a changed consciousness?

Most people are generally aware of the world through a certain framework. The "default" framework for most people tends to be Me. I like this, I don't like this, I think this is good, I think this is bad, etc. A change of consciousness comes about when a new framework gets put in place. For a Christian, the framework would be God. In my experience with the Buddhist framework, it becomes would this cause or relieve suffering.

Both... if your heart is changed good but how can you pray if your conscious isn't, if your conscious is bad you will never make it on your knees you will be constantly being reminded of all those things you did yesterday, an hour ago, a second ago, and you will feel like what's the point? Why should I pray? God won't listen to me any way...

To me when you have lived a sinful life you are in need of a complete nature change when you come to Jesus.

A perfect example of changed consciousness is when you expand your point of view to see WHY those "sins" are wrong in the first place---the people you hurt

There was very old love story and I feel it will be a proper answer:

A fellow involved with a beautiful girl and she too. One day she all of a sudden demanded that she would quit this fellow unless he brings the heart of his mother as a gift towards exposing his love.

That fellow takes the order and kills his mother. Takes out her heart and was in hurry to reach the beloved. While he was in the fast phase, he hits a boulder and falls on the barren land. The heart that was kept in his bag talks "Are you hurt son?"

At a particular stage the conscience of that fellow permitted him to kill his mother....At a certain time it makes him feel about the criminal act that he had done to his mother for the sake of his beloved!!!.

To repent means to start living differently from your sinful past. It means to have a change of heart. God gives you that desire when He saves you.

very good question. you seem to be a philosopher.
and you are also a more evolved thinker.

all reformation that happens using psycho techniques are cases of altered consciousness.

heart change is a miracle of God. It cannot be effected by psycho techniques.

basically that... derived from the Greek word, "metanoia", which shows by and massive a "replace of techniques" or "replace of mind". Repentance implies no longer in straightforward terms sorrow, contrition or regret, yet extra easily and basically an prognosis of our defective techniques coupled with a come to a determination to no longer repeat them. Repenting skill aligning our techniques, thoughts, words and deeds with the Divine.

To repent means to turn away from. To stop doing what you were at one point doing. Repentance is a 180 degree turn.

It is true that many Christians who accept Christ as their savior have a hard time leaving their vices behind, but at least they are trying. A good example would be a friend of mine who was into meth, but got saved and is now a really good person.
