I have this friend that I really like and I think she likes me but I can't tell for sure. How can I ask her out without sounding stupid?

Instead of turning it into a big deal, why don't you casually ask her if she want's to go somewhere with you without turning it into a big scene? For instance, "Hey, Janie. I have a couple of tickets to the (name a band she likes here) concert. I know you really like them, wanna go?" Or..."Hey, Janie. I want to check out that new exhibit at the Art Gallery, want to tag along? Maybe we can grab dinner before we get there." ETC. That way, you are not putting any pressure on either of you. Truthfully, she might REALLY BE busy that night, so if she says no, don't let it crush you. Just ask her again to something else in a couple of weeks. On the other hand, if she says yes, then you will know by the end of the night if she is interested.
Don't knock it! My former roommate got married to a guy who used this tactic. And the truth was, he didn't actually have the rock concert tickets, but when she said yes, he had to go scalp some! They cost him $250.00 each!! They've been married for over 10 years!!

One thing that is rather easy to do is to ask her if she has seen the movie "xyz". Choose a movie that is on at the theatre and you wouldn't mind seeing. If she has seen it, ask her if it is any good. Then ask her what else she would go see with you on Friday nite. If she hasn't seen it, tell her that you will pick her up at xx pm. Make sure that you are early, NOT LATE! Make sure that you go to her door and knock. If someone else answers talk with them as if you already know them. Last, but not least, HAVE FUN!

if i was you, i would look straight into her eyes, and tell her everything you feel towards her.
then ask her if there is a possibility of a relationship. if she says yes, you're wish is granted, if she's not sure, ask why (in a nice way), then ask what can YOU do to change her mind so that a relationship can be on your way.

First go up to her.. say that you like this certain girl and i don't know if she likes me what would you do... you find out and then if she says just make your move then you make your move and if she doesn't like you then screw her move on!!!!
