You're well under the soft cap in, I believe, all US states. I think all states have at least a 2 year soft cap which you apparently are under in age difference. Also, I think if you were together before you turned 18 and you can both vouch for that, then you're really in the clear. There should be no problem, and in only a year, it won't be a concern again, anyway.

Don't get bugged by most of the people on this website. They're mindless automatons who don't know any more about life than Wikipedia and the "I'm Feeling Lucky" button on Google.

Statutory Rape is rape of a minor.
As a minor can not give consent,
it would be rape if it is one day,
one month, or one year.
It would depend on the parents who
would be involved and their
knowledge of your intent. Plus,
what kind of mood the judge is in.
The laws are tough in Texas, but a
fathers shotgun is even worse.
Maybe, seeing that you are 19,
and she is 16, will be 17 in 4 months,
maybe you should invest some
time in talking with her parents.
Establish a good relationship with
them, get permission to date their
daughter. Plus, put the sex on
hold for one more year. If you
don't think you can do this, you will
be looking at charges for, you
guessed it, statutory rape.

I don't know about 16-18, but I know that 17-18 is perfectly legal. if she's about to turn 17, you may just want to wait.

If you have to ask that question then odds are the other person is too young for you to be sleeping with.

it wouldn't kill you to wait just a couple of years more will it? if you're unsure then don't do it.
