The evangelical sect is reserved for the most hard-core believers Don't Judge all Cristian's just because these weirdos are the ones that try the hardest to scam and get as much money as possible. The televangelists are like the Dooms day take over the world give us all your money or you will go to hell. Whats the word Fanatics, Extremists. Studies show these people have actually been subtly brainwashed and scammed the worst. So basically Yes you are right about the brainwashing, but not all Christians are this way. We should not really be laughing but helping these poor people (it is freakin hilarious though)

...I am a Christian and I pay little attention to most TV preachers, although there are a couple whom I like. I believe most televangelists are into sensationalism and dishonest trickery, and they dishonor the name of Christ. Many also want your donations, perhaps generous donations. Scripture says, "The love of money is the root of all kinds of evil."
...Maybe you should befriend some Christians in your town; maybe you already know some. If so, examine their lives.
...I don't believe most Christians are "wild-eyed-fanatics". The Christians that I know the best (in our church and former church) are real friends who would give their lives for us; they are very decent, level-headed people who dearly love the Lord Jesus Christ.

Just about everyone is brainwashed to some degree. If you don't believe in the bible, you believe in Sigmund Freud, or a corrupt scienctist, or Oprah, or a famous Feminist.. It's rare to meet people who actually think for themselves.
So I wouldn't bash Christians. Some think for themselves, and some don't. I'd instead point the finger at the masses in general (Christian or not) who let others guide their lives with false knowledge.

Coming from a person who is a skeptic, I think that, yes, they are brainwashed. I have been to services at an Evangelical church because some of my friends go there and they wanted me to try it. I decided to humor them, as there was free food there. A form of bribery, if you ask me. Anyway, it's amazing what my friends have been taught, some of it being prejudice against non-Christians, homosexuals, and more. But really, you're only going to get a few perspectives if you insult others.

Ok first of all... when not morons. Second, I know wat you mean when you say we look like zombies on tv and how we preach is boring or watever. There are some Christians who are really into their faith and say all these religious things (these are the zombies you're talking about) and there are the others who live life like everyonelse does.

Are soap opera characters retarded? They have a lot of drama.
Please, let's remember that reality is not always reflected on television.
Try Christianity.
John 14:6 - Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

The love of Christ will do that to some. Try going to a Baptist church. They sing and dance in the aisle. If you really want to see a good example of Christian, go to a Evangelical Free Church. These people carry their own Bibles to church and truly love the Lord.
