Doesn't that sort of make it less meaningful when you are saying it to someone you actually mean it to?

First of all it means you love them like they are a really good friend, and you you would flip if you lost them. I even say ti to guys sometimes that iam good frinds with. It most certainly does not make it any less meaningful when you are saying it in a romantic way.

This is exactly how my bf feels when I say "love ya" to all my girlfriends. it's just a friendly good-bye or it just means that we really care about our girlfriends. when we say it to guys, thats when it should be less meaningful...

Actually, yeah...I know what you mean and I agree. Love is such a temperamental thing tho....
I mean, I tell my boyfriend I LOVE him. And, compared to that, can I really say I LOVE mnm's as well? Or going to the mall? Or Grey's Anatomy?

But, we all do it.

How do you know that they don't mean it, I have plenty of girl friends that I love and don't mind giving them a quick and cute reminder of that. You might want to try it. telling someone they you luv them of Love them never hurt anyone, infact it tells them how much you love yourself.

well no
it just means that they/we "luv" each other like family
if ur sayin it 2 a bf then no it has a diff meaning in a way but is still as powerful(so make sure u mean it when u say it)

girls usually do that, even though it doesn't necessarily mean that they love one of their friends. i would understand why you would think that though, i think its true that if you say "i love you" casually it doesn't mean anything very meaningful.
