Taarikh-I-Baabul Kaaf, "Kaana fil Hinde NABIYYAN aswadal lawni ismuhu KaHiNa." This translates as, "There was a prophet of God in India who is dark in color and his name was KaHaN." The constants 'KHN' exist in both the words 'Kahan' and 'Kanhaya' a common name for Krishna. Based on these similarities it believed that Krishna is being refered to directly in this text.

so was he, or is this propaganda?

No !!! Islam has no such prophets with name of Krishna.....Krishna is a Hindus god and basically hinduism is originated in sub-continent , ..While muslim's prophets came from Arabs and middle east. both have no relation with one and other. So its not true....Krishna is Hindu god and belongs to hinduism and its totally different from muslim's prophets.

Edit :
anuragmaken !!! we have no such will to prove that krishna is muslim or what.....See the answers. not even a single muslim tried to link him with islam. Now you would have known that we are not at all interested in making any relation of islam with hinduism.and why ?? so its a long detail...and Btw why would we be afriad of krishna's teachings?? We even don't know who is he/she actualy , and not genuinely interested to know whts his teachings...

Just be clear !!!

Prophets not only came from Middle East , because in the Quran its said " And verily, We have sent among every Ummah (community, nation) a Messenger (proclaiming): "Worship God (Alone), and avoid (or keep away from) Taghut (all false deities, etc. i.e., do not worship Taghut besides God)." Then of them were some whom God guided and of them were some upon whom the straying was justified. So travel through the land and see what was the end of those who denied (the truth). (Qur'ân 16:36) "

Another verse states that "And for every Ummah (a community or a nation), there is a Messenger; when their Messenger comes, the matter will be judged between them with justice, and they will not be wronged. (Qur'ân 10:47) "

This clearly states that a messenger was sent to each and every part of the world.
The Prophet (PBUH) said that a black Prophet came to India, and his name was Kahan ( Krishna ). People didn't make this up, because its recorded in various Hadith's / Sayings of the Prophet.

Researched a lot about this..
