milk sell by date is only for the store to disconninute sales. It is good generally for about a week past the experation date.

3 days is the most but, it has to be kept cold.You have to keep milk cold at all times if you leave your milk out each day for more than 10 min during for instance breakfast. then you should not use after date.

If it is the SELL by date it should be good for 10 days...but don't count on it. I'd do the smell test before i drank it.

Don't be a cheapsake - spend the $$ on clean fresh milk and eggs - esp. on eggs buy the more expensive ones that actually have a thick shell and intact yolk...

if it smells sour, then dump it. i usually dont even consider drinking it after the sell by date.
