get a teaspoon of sugar and eat it or a spoonful of peanut butter. Also you might try taking breathing exercises. Breath in through your nose and out your mouth several 10 times. When you hiccup your brain is not getting enough oxygen and you need to do the breathing exercises. This will help.

When I took my Mom to the Doctor and was sitting in the waiting area,I read a Dr's magazine that said if you press your thumb on the roof of your mouth for maybe 40 seconds ( I can't remember exactly how many seconds ) that they will go away.It works alot of times but not always. At least you'd have the remedy right at hand.

The only trick that ever works for me is drinking out of the wrong side of a glass... it sounds weird but it works! Fill a glass about half full and then put you mouth on the side of the glass farthest from you, bed over until the water reaches you mouth and then drink the all of the water. I have no idea why this works but I told my sister-in-law about it and she swears by it!

there are tons of suggestions out there.....some say peaches, a spoonful of peanut butter, sugar under the tongue, holding your breath. the best on i've had so far was to take a small glass of water, light a match and put it into the water. remove the matchstick and drink the water. it's worked every time i've tried it.

Have some one put the palms of their hands over your ears and push against your ears as you take a gulp of water... and it doesn't work with you pressing on your own ears for some reason.

Try rubbing/massaging your earlobes. Works for me every time. I can't remember who told me, but it's a great way to get rid of 'em fast.
