In their own words, "The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System™ is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high performance green buildings." The guidelines described on the website seem to apply primarily to construction, and not to electrical systems. However, there does seem to be an indication that the house should run on the least amount of energy possible. Presumably, this means being insulated to require less energy for heating and cooling, and making maximum use of natural light.
