i'm not muslim but i'm going to answer this anyways, the church of satan, is stupid. i feel that there is nothing wrong with satanism, but what levay's done is taken his beliefs and turned it into his own religion and is just calling it satanism, its a load of crap, its not true satanism at all, there are bits and piece that have some truth, but for the most part, its some new pop culture religion, for people that want to THINK that they are satanist, like i said before its a load of ****, levay was a smart guy, but its not true satanism at all

I am not a Muslim, but I will endeavour to answer your question from an Islamic perspective nonetheless.

I can't imagine any sect of Islam, with the possible exception of Sufi Islam, being able to tolerate the ideals of the Church of Satan. While I understand that CoS is not devil worship, but rather a ritualistic version of secular humanist philosophy which values the self above all, there are greater divides than the lack of a (praiseworthy) deity.

For instance, the very idea of selfishness being acceptable is contrary to Islam where all Muslims (uma, I believe is the term) are considered equal before God. God may favour some deeds in Islam, but equality exists between all humans. Additionally, the Satanic concept of indulgence is contrary to the religious acclaimation of abstaining.

There are other numerous differences, but as I stated these religious views are not compatible.

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.

The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.

Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.

Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.

Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

Satan is a million dollar industry aimed at putiing the fear of God in people so they'll donate money to the Pope - who will, in return, save them from the Devil.
