Heya Lana,

The way Russians say hello depends on how well they know the person they are speaking to (formal vs. informal)

The most common formal way Russians say hello is

"zzDRAST-wi-tyeh" (Здравствуйте)

and most common informal "Hi" (for close friends, children):

"prEEv-yet" (Привет)

To say "my name is", is a little different in Russian compared to English. Most commonly they say "Me they call .."

"min-YA za-vOOt Lana" (меня зовут Lana)

To finish the introduction with "nice to meet you" is:

"O-chen pree-YAt-na" (очень приятно) which translates as "very pleasant". I know it doesn't make perfect sense in English, but it's what they say.

You can hear all this stuff on my website. Hope it helps!

OK, realistic answer . . .

"Здравствуйте. Меня зовут ___________."
literally "Me (they) call ___________
Don't forget you don't pronounce the first "в" in Здравствуйте.

Don't be surprised that there is more than one way to get the meaning across, think of English:

Hello, I'm X
Hello, my name's X
Good morning, my name is X
Hi! I'm called X, etc.

The one I've given you is fairly neutral and can be used at any time of the day.
