The bagel (or sometimes beigel; Yiddish, beygl) is a bread product traditionally made of yeasted wheat dough in the form of a roughly hand-sized ring which is boiled in water and then baked. The result is a dense, chewy, doughy interior with a browned and sometimes crisp exterior.

yummy

an opportunity to use your imagination and make them more yummy.
you can spread toasted bagels with any number of things:jams/preserves, cheeses, humus, etc.

if you like cheese you could grate some and sprinkle it on a bagel and pop it in the oven or microwave.

we used to soften bread products by inserting it into a wet brown paper bag and placing it into the oven for a short time......these days you can get a Chinese type steamer made of bamboo.
