I've changed the water pump twice on my 2001 dodge ram. Only to find out that the first I bought was faulty and then that after putting the second on that my pullies were out of line. Maybe check that. I'm not sure though. Hope I was of some help.

Just a guess. Check the alignment of the belt. The vibration could be a bad bearing in the pulley. Where does the coolant go? Make sure they gave you the proper water aftermarket pump. Take it to a dealer and match it up with the one you have. Pull the thermostat and replace.

I think that's all there is left to change right? A bent fan blade or off balance fan might cause the vibration and the pump failure.. You could try an electric fan and see what happens. Check the belt tension..but that's all I can think of.

An off balanced fan "could" cause that.
Make sure you are replacing it with a factory waterpump.
7 year Dodge Technician here, Dodge motors just don't do good with aftermarket waterpumps for some reason. Same with oil filters and always use Champion plugs.
