I want to have a cosy and girly room.. But i dont know how to go about doing it. I've got a square room. Lookin at it from the door, the door is at the bottom right hand corner. In front of the door, is a 4-door closet built in against the wall. In the middle of the room, at the top of my square room, is my queen sized bed. My walls are of a soft pink colour, the closet is a faded pink, the head board of the bed is of a dull pink, i've got a wooden flooring. Now, what else can i add to my room to let it have a cosy feel?

Coziness will come from fabric and lighting... which can be chosen to add to the girly feel. Because your room is pale, it would help to choose rich, accent colours such as deep pinks. Add lots of throw pillows, floor pillows, a shag rug, heavy drapes, and bedspread. A beanbag chair, framed prints, and bed curtains would also be a nice touch.

Adding soft lamps and accent lighting (such as rope light tucked behind your headboard) would add to the ambiance.

Happy decorating!

I think the things in your room that are making it seem younger and more girly at the minute are the curtains and bedspread (: I think you should keep the pillows if they are a darker nicer shade of green, instead of a lighter shade, if that makes sense and build on that (: Get softer lighting like a lamp or something because the right lighting really makes a room seem cozier, fairy lights would be nice (: Maybe you could add a crimson color into your bedspread and accessories and stuff though it really depends on your shade of blue and green (: Instead of the red you could maybe add a darker orange because that is a really cozy color and it would go with the blue (:

Well, I think ya got "girly" down with all that pink. "coziness" would come from texture. Start with either an area rug or two or three smaller rugs that can look good together. Add Fluffy pillows and throw pillows on the bed, and an afghan thrown over an easy chair.. maybe some sheer drapes. Colors I would use are chocolate brown and a lighter color like taupe or khaki.

Add an area rug that's soft and plush in colors that you love. Hang a sparkly chandelier (lots of reasonably priced ones these days in catalogs, on-line, ebay, etc.). Hang some beautiful photos you've taken that are meaningful to you or some paintings made by you. Art is what makes a home feel cozy and personal. Add a homemade patchwork quilt to fold across the bottom of the bed for when you're chilly, or to use as your regular blanket, in different shades of pink, whites and others you like, or start a new color scheme if that's what you'd prefer. You can make it yourself or find them for not too much in different catalogs. A couple of places to look are domestications.com and linen source. If you think your headboard is dull choose a new shade and maybe match that to the closet door and bedroom door. I like to paint a ceiling of a room the very palest pale blue to give the feeling of the outdoors coming in and it's very relaxing. Benjamin Moore makes a beautiful color called Cumulous Cotton that I use on my ceilings in select rooms. A bedroom is ideal for this. Changing your doorknob to a beautiful antique clear crystal or colored crystal is lovely as well. Over your bed you might also try a canopy made of netting for a feeling of privacy that's still airy (available at bed bath & beyond & other home stores). Some floor cushions in neutral colors for your friends to hang out on would be cool and can be bought at Walmart or Target for little cost. Simple cream or white curtains are also nice and easy but will keep things flowing and not make the room feel cramped. If you have room a cozy chair or two and a small table to have breakfast at or to read and write at is also nice to have in your bedroom. You can also find these in catalogs, home shops and on-line for reasonable prices or thrift shops. You can always paint them in the color that you like and add a cute cushion to the chairs. I hope these ideas help and I hope your room turns out beautifully.

I'd get a nice bed set. You can get a nice quilt in soft colors that will compliment your pink room. Keep it made, as it is the one item everyone will see when entering.
Get some white candles and place them on your nightstand.
If you have some special photos of friends and family, purchase some inexpensive silver frames and arrange them on your dresser.
Candles and photos are lovely in a bedroom. Keep your room neat and free of clutter.

Go to IKEA, and look thru the small area rugs, and the small chairs. They have a bunch of rugs that are in the shape of flowers, circles, frogs, etc. and pick out a funky one. They also have small chairs, and you can get a slipcover to suit your color scheme. Get a "mosquito net" made of a soft sheer fabric, and hang it over your bed. Lots of throw pillows in a tiny-print calico fabric and edged with narrow lace and a contrasting patterned ruffle. Check out the stuff at Target (I think it's called "shabby chic") for some cute feminine prints. Try using a shade of green as a contrast color, and find a nice soft throw blanket in chenille or a cotton knit. And go to the craft store, and grab several sheets of "fun foam" (thin foam in bright colors) in white, yellow and green. Cut out the parts of several large daisies, and attach them on your wall in a garden row. Add butterflies cut out of the foam too.

welll.... i guess u can start wid rearranging ur bed..... u must pull up d bed along side a wall wid a window.... not d headboard along d window, but a side along d window.... dis will give u space on d othr side fr a couch or somethin like a settee for seating.... and d bed wil go into a confined space making it cosier.... even if no window, jus align d bed side to d wall.... wil make confined space, makin it instantly cozy....

a soft lamp over d bed, makes a great ambience, take it white color not yellw..... den jus put any random reasonably sheer colored fabric over it in a single layer, to color d light as well as an added personal touch....

cushions and toys make a lot of difference and are great to lean on in slumber parties n pajama nites.... :)

al dis shud make a lot of difference....

ur window cud av, sheer drapes......

I think you need a rug. I love hardwood floors but adding a rug or some other type of floor covering really warms things up.
