I have a pigeon and it's starting to pluck his feathers. i don't know what's wrong with it. I give it a new food every month because he's a picky eater and I can't buy another one coz it's cage is tooo small. I'm thinking aboput buying toys for it but I don't know here to buy one so I just placed a branch for it to perch on. I give it a bath every month or so in case he has fleas but he still keeps on plucking his feathers. I asked my relatives ho takes care of birds but they said that it was only molting but I'm not that sure... HELP! I want to let it fly for a moment but it might not come back and join other pigeons...

The bird is plucking fethers becoase it has fleas. Take the bird to a vet and have them help you get rid of the fleas.

As someone else wrote, birds cannot get fleas. You should spray him down every other day at least, which could be part of it, if he is plucking. But I suspect he is simply molting, which they do about twice a year, otherwise you might should have a vet check him for mites---also< I don't think doves will play with toys, parrots generally do it because of their extreme intelligence, and to keep their beaks honed, and conditioned---Birdman

Birds do not get fleas! You should be feeding it Zupreem pellets and pigeon food. Birds like to bath daily, not monthly. Sounds like your cage might be to small for this bird. You would be wasting your money to buy toys for a pigeon. If you have more issues you might contact a vet for advice.

Good luck!
