Drinking Ginseng, like in Sobe energy drink, and eating vegetables(not a joke) it really does increase it. Try some commercial ginseng drinks for expanding memory

Play matching games, crossword puzzles, and any other games with words in it. Another way is to say things out loud. It is easier to remember someones name if you repeat it when meeting them. You can also try to notice things where ever you go. When you sit down in a resteraunt time everything and pay attention to details like how the tables are arranged. Think about it latter and try to remember as much detail as possible. My last memory trick is to put pictures with words. If you have five words to remember picture them written on your five fingers. It helps you to remember you need to recall five words and adding the picture will help you recall it from the (folder) place you stored it in your brain.

Get at least a full 8 hours of sleep at night.
Take seratonin, melatonin, or 5-htp.
Take a super b complex tablet each day.
Eat right, and go for a 45 minute walk outside each day.

wear a wreath of rosemary to help retain what you want to remember when you are remembering it. That is why rosemary is used on rememberance day! Memory excercises like the old remembering game with the pack of cards helps as well.

I think you have to keep your mind occupied, like answering questions on here, playing word games or math games, reading, doing puzzles. It is also said to help one from having alztheimers(sp?) when elderly.
