I no this one. Jesus spoke a parable in his day on earth that went something like this. The wheat gets taken and placed in his barns, the weeds get taken and tied in bundles. What i've been shown is that these diferent bundles are differ'nt places of punishment, Hell, hades, death, place of burning sulpher, Abys were fallen angels go. The final judgment some of these dungeons " if you would call them" are cast into that Lake of Fire multiplying the pain. Theirs also a place called Sea of Life more than likely a place were souls rest in type of slumber until rapture. To answere your question the soul is you . This is the fruit if you will that God desires. Children for him. He loves those who love him and then some.We become his children. The soul cant die secomd death is being locked up for eternity. When your babtised the Holy Spirit enters the person soul entwineing itself in us as our guide and councelor.

When someone begins to die the Angel of Death or Izraeel comes to
take the soul out of the body and puts it in a place called the
Barzakh. "Say: 'The Angel of Death, put in charge of you, will (duly)
take your souls. Then shall you be brought back to your Lord."
(32:11) "Wherever you are, Death will find you out, even if you are
in towers built up strong and high! " (4:78)

For those who led a life of evil, the removal of the soul is tough
and difficult. Sometimes, more than one angel has to work together to
beat the face and back of the deceased. But for those who lived a
good life, the soul yearns to meet its Lord and leaves the body with
ease, like a drop of water pouring out. A light like the sun's ray
and a sweet fragrance come out to the soul. Then it ascends amid
rows of angels, but those who are there cannot see or smell this.
The deceased is questioned, punished, beaten, and wails, and cries
out. All this happens while they lie dead and their family is around
them, but they neither hear nor see it. The sleeper dreams and
enjoys their dream or is tormented by it, while someone awake at
their side is not able to perceive what is going on at all.

Allah has given inanimate objects awareness and perception by which
they glorify their Lord. The stones fall down out of fear of Him.
The mountains and trees prostrate. The pebbles, water and plants
glorify Him. All this is going on but we are not aware of it. "There
is nothing which does not glorify His praise but you do not
understand their glorification." (17:44) The Companions heard the
food that was being eaten glorifying Allah. That was because the
Companions had a transparency of heart that does not now exist among
us. All these things are part of our world and yet we are in
complete ignorance of them. It is not too much of an extrapolation
to extend this to our being unaware of the things of the Next World.

After the soul is taken, if it is a pure soul and has relatives in
the Next World who are people of the Garden, they come to meet the
soul with yearning and great joy. They ask it about the condition of
those who are still alive and 'suffering' in this world. The angels
then bear the soul from one heaven to the next until it comes into
the presence of Allah, Then it returns and sees the washing of the
body, its shrouding, and the funeral procession. It says either,
'Take me forward! Take me forward!' or 'Where are you taking me?'
The living, of course, hear none of this. The soul comes back and
stays floating above the body and when the corpse is placed in the
grave, the soul inserts itself between the body and the shroud so
that the questioning can take place....

The souls of all spirits whether they be good or evil are taken home to that God that gave them life. Then it comes to pass the souls that are righteous are received into a state of paradise, a place where they rest from all their troubles. The souls that are wicked though shrink away from the presence of the Lord to a place called outer darkness there there is much weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Soul=Hebrew/ NEPHESH=that which breathes.
Our 'soul 'is us.
Genesis; a swarm of living souls...
earth put forth living souls...
Leviticus 24; 17,18...in case a man strikes any soul...
(Revelation 16:3) And the second one poured out his bowl into the sea. And it became blood as of a dead man, and every living soul died, [yes,] the things in the sea.

(Ezekiel 18:4) Look! All the souls—to me they belong. As the soul of the father so likewise the soul of the son—to me they belong. The soul that is sinning—it itself will die.

When we die, our 'soul' , us, dies.
Nowhere does the Bible say the 'soul' is something 'separate'.

It is your choice. You go to heaven or hell when you die. So choose. Accept Christ who paid for it or not. You don't have to, He won't force you. But if you reject him, you are choosing hell. If you do accept that He is God, and believe He has the power to save you, all you have to do is ask. Just tell Him you believe, you're sorry, ask forgiveness and it is done. No tags. Its your choice to live for Him or not. But the words or thoughts are empty if you don't believe. There truly is a difference when you are truly born again. I wanted to serve Him. I didn't for the longest time but He has given me a second chance. You can hope your soul or hell doesn't exist, but what happens when you are wrong?

Souls exists only as a union of "dust of the ground" and breath of life.
In Genesis 2:7 this concept of creation is given:
dust + breath of life = living soul
At the death there is another formula:
living soul - breath of life = dust
And where is the soul? There is no soul after death. Because, soul exists only as a union of dust and breath of life from God, as shown in the first formula. The oposite process, given in second formula shows that only dust remains when the Lord takes away His breath of life.
This is why Bible says about death following verses found in
Ecclesiastes chapter 9 verses 5, 6 and 10:
"For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any [thing] that is done under the sun... Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do [it] with thy might; for [there is] no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest."
And Jesus, speaking about death of Lazarus in John chapter 11 says, "Our friend Lazarus sleepeth... Howbeit, Jesus spake of his death." (John 12:11-13). The state of death is simmilar to that of sleep. You know nothing, see nothing, like during the sleep. And it's called "the sleep" because of the resurection that will follow at the comming of Jesus - for righteous, or later for unrighteous (Revelation 20:4-6)

When you die, your soul dies. Jesus is dead, and thus has no soul, and therefore cannot give you another life to live.

It all depends on you. Put your heart, mind, body, spirit, and your soul in a bundle and with faith, give all those things to Jesus, and then when it is time to leave this cruel world, all those things will be in the Kingdom of Heaven with our Heavenly Father Jesus Christ!
