That happens to me every now and then too.
I usually hear an extremely loud banging noise--like someone is beating on my front door with their fist. For the longest time, I would go to the front door to see what was causing the noise.
Then I realized my dogs were not barking--so the only noise was in my head--lol

That is so weird, because I used to have the same thing, although mine wasn't talking most of the time, it would be a very loud noise, sometimes I'd hear my mom yell/scream my name even though she lives in a different state, or I'd hear a really loud screech right before drifting off and it literally makes me jerk out of my sleep. I know that I'm not even 3 minutes into sleep too, so I know that I'm not dreaming. I'm not sure what its called but if you google it, I'm sure something will come up.

I don't know possible medication side effect usually drugs like Prozac and antidepressant cause this. If you are on no med I have no idea check your diet it can really mess up your brain chemistry it alters and controls all of your senses just look at LSD it changes your brain chemistry that's why when your on LSD you have visual and auditory hallucinations.

It could be like a dream, you do fall into a sub-concious dreaming/awake mode, but i don't know. I had one 5 minutes after i woke up. That **** was scary. Maybe call a help line or a doctor, as they would probably have more knowledge on this subject.

You're probably already sleeping when it happens, you just don't realize it. When I was little that used to happen to me a lot. I was a light sleeper then and I would dream that I was laying in bed in my room and I felt like I was really awake.

See a psychiatrist. Is there a history of schizophrenia in your family? Have you-yourself suffered a trauma?

That's definitly happened to me. Seriously, I think it was a spirit. Is that a possibility in your situation? I'm really not trying to freak you out, but in my situation, I'm convinced it was someone trying to talk to me.
