it's really too long to list here, but i'll start it and maybe it'll help refresh your memory.................(u usually repeat or 'echo' each line, and pretend to march while singing)**chorus: we're going on a bear hunt...............gonna catch a big one,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,i'm not scared..................what a beautiful day **............oh no, there's a lake (river, swamp) ..............can't go under it...........can't go over it......................can't go around it..................guess we'll go thru it...........swim,swim,swim (pretend to swim thru water) **repeat chorus..............oh no, squishy mud...........can't go over it...can't go under it..etc guess we'll go thru it........squish squish squish squish (pretend to be walking thru mud) **repeat chorus this time coming to a tree can't go under etc etc etc....**repeat chorus.....oh look ther's a cave..........can't go over it.can't go under it...etc.... guess we'll go thru it.(pretend to march thru cave).............**repeat chorus .........kinda dark in here..................uh oh what's that?...........two black furry ears............one black wet nose..........two shart pointy teeth.................it's a bear!.......... hurry quick back over the tree, thru the mud across the lake etc, back safely home......... we're never going on a bear hunt again!! i've heard several different versions of this song, some include tall wavy grass, some a swamp, some mud, lotts of combinations, but the general idea is the same. hope u can understand my typing, and hope it helps.

I teach somewhat on a daycare level.. I tutor also.. what I do is let my kids make up the hunt levels as we go along.. we always start with it this way and you can vary it as you go along. ex:
going on a bear hunt (knocking your hands on your knees)
looking out the window (make a movement opening a window)
no bear outside (whew, wipe off your brow)
going on a bear hunt (I throw this line in every couple of lines)
opening the door (make a door opening movement)
going on a bear hunt (knocking on knees again)
here you can do any of the following
walking across yard
opening gate
going throw tall grass
going through a river
climbing up a tree
climbing down a tree
swimming through the river/creek
crawling along the dirt
coming to a hill
climbing up a hill
finding a cave
seeing the bear
running away
doing everything in reverse to get back to your house
have fun and make up movements and sounds to match them..
my kids love this game..
goodluck!

OH MY GOD! You just sparked my memory I can't remember anymore of it than what you said. I think that the next line was "what do we see" or "what will we see" and then you would say something. Oh man this is gonna drive me nuts!!!!!!!!!

I remeber going on a lion hunt...

Goin' on a lion hunt.
Goin to catch a big one.
I'm not afraid.
Look, what's up ahead?

Mud!
Can't go over it.
Can't go under it.
Can't go around it.
Gotta go through it. [Make sloshing sounds and move hands as if slogging]

Goin' on a lion hunt.
Goin to catch a big one.
I'm not afraid.
Look, what's up ahead?

Sticks!
Can't go over it.
Can't go under it.
Can't go around it.
Gotta go through it. [Snap fingers]

Goin' on a lion hunt.
Goin to catch a big one.
I'm not afraid.
Look, what's up ahead?

Trees!
Can't go over it.
Can't go under it.
Can't go around it.
Gotta go through it. [Make gestures climbing up and down.]

Goin' on a lion hunt.
Goin to catch a big one.
I'm not afraid.
Look, what's up ahead?

Gate!
Can't go over it.
Can't go under it.
Can't go around it.
Gotta go through it. [Make gate-opening gestures.]

Goin' on a lion hunt.
Goin to catch a big one.
I'm not afraid.
Look, what's up ahead?

River!
Can't go over it.
Can't go under it.
Can't go around it.
Gotta go through it. [make swimming gestures]

Goin' on a lion hunt.
Goin to catch a big one.
I'm not afraid.
Look, what's up ahead?

Grass!
Can't go over it.
Can't go under it.
Can't go around it.
Gotta go through it. Grass [move hands together and apart]

Goin' on a lion hunt.
Goin to catch a big one.
I'm not afraid.
Look, what's up ahead?

Cave!
Can't go over it.
Can't go under it.
Can't go around it.
Gotta go through it. [act like you are feeling your way in a dark cave]

Feel yourself along the wall.
Oh, oh What's this?
Something funny.
With a long soft thing on it's end!
With two sharp things!
Two big gleaming sharp things!
A LION!!!
Run for your life!

Run out of the cave!
Crawl through the grass!
Swim across the river!
Run through the gate!
Run around the trees!
Jump over the sticks!
Slosh through the mud!
Run into the house!
Close the door!
Run up the front stairs!
Crawl under mom's bed!
