It sounds like he's just expressing that you've made him feel very good, very welcome. He obviously thinks highly of you and finds you are valuable human being. What a compliment! I do not know if he's hinting at anything more though. Hard to say.
But I'll say this, he certainly thinks you are something! And that's a good start if it was to ever go further. If it doesn't, it's a good basis for a friendship.

He sounds like he sees you as a friends or even a family member yes he has feelings for you but not in a type that involves a relationship.......He really really cares about you but not in a girlfriends way!!
