I have some health issues and a family health history would be most helpful. I know 'birth name' but not much more. Any suggestions as to where to begin would be great.

start with the center who handled the adoption other then that so you know that long ago many adoptions were made and RECORDS were sealed there is a chance you can't find out anything.
