Well there's no reason why he can't .But make sure that's what he wants to do because it's very important that you're not making him do this. Talk to his doctors carefully because there's a big chance he will get hurt. Other than that have fun!

Uhmm you should tell him to take it lighter on the workout regime, its good that he wants to stay fit but putting too much strain on the body will slow it down in alot of ways including height-wise. Your boys only 13 and Males dont stop growing till around 20 years of age, and there growth spur USUALLY hits aroudn the time theyre in high school. So for all we know your son may have some ways to go yet. Bodybuilding is extreme at his age, but workout should be encouraged. A few pointers make sure he doesnt do any exercises that put strain on his spine as to seeing how his bones and stuff are still develpoing and the spine is important if he doesnt want back problems at 30. So for example dumbells should be used on a bench sitting or laying down versus standing up, and to stay away from th ebar while standing up as well. Anythign with too much skeletal strain is a bit unhealthy..but encourage healthy regimes always! good luck and I hoep this helps!

No, well not too strenuously, only once or two or three times a week for half an hour.. Alongside other workouts, in particular cardio. It can be dodgy when younger, as it is possible to damage your bone structure because at that age your bones are not at their premium strength: the muscles put excess pressure on the bones and can in extreme cases bend the bones and stunt (in his case further) growth- the bones grow and strengthen continiously until you are about 17! A variety of problems can be caused later in life if it is taken too seriously at that age...

It could be a bladder problem. When you sleep your bladder automatically in a way shuts off and in order for you to relieve yourself you need to relax the muscles which stop the urine from coming out. Sometimes people have weak muscles and during sleep the slightest relaxation of the muscles can cause bedwetting. The same if us females have a weak pelvic floor, when we laugh, we almost wet ourselves (I don’t! But I’m speaking in general of females) and in order to tighten the pelvic floor muscles we do exercises.. That may be confusing but I’m guessing you understand a little! It may not be a bladder problem, it may just be a psychological thing? I know you’ve probably done it countless times but keep taking him to Dr’s until you find a doctor who will finally give you an answer to his problem or will give you the right meds.

I kind of doubt a 13 year old can bench 300 pounds...

wow.
He will be able to bench press your Toyota soon.

I don't even know if gyms let kids that young join. if you buy him weights and equipment, i would make sure it's the safe kind that does not allow him to get trapped under a heavy barbell. Nautilus type machines are kinda pricey, but safer.
Probably should talk to a doctor too, to find out if certain excercizes are bad for growing bones and joints.

Ask him to wait another 2 years. Ok ? And meantime Ask him to reduce his weight by running each morning atleast 3 miles before any breakfast. No bodybuilding now but just lot of Free hand excersises untill he gets damn tired. Must reduce weight but no diet control at this age.

That is about the age when my b-i-l started and it worked great for him. I would consult his doctor first to get some advice, and then sign him up with a trainer for a couple of sessions so he learns proper technique. My husband was a professional trainer for years and guided his brother.

I would allow him to go to the gym and do such things as lift minor weights and run. But I would save the heavier stuff for a couple of years. Concenrate on his fitness and health (diet) right now.

no it is bad for their muscles and bad on the bones, working out and body building are two different things here tho jogging and push ups and traditional excesses is ok but not body building. wait till hes 16 or so for the weight tranning.
