My cat did the same thing. My vet found that it was stress. Really there's nothing your doing wrong. It is mental go to other vet to get a second opinion.They put my cat a medication. It worked. Good Luck!

Here are some things that can cause it - Fleas YES , Skin Problem , Allergy { either enviremental or Food } , Mange Mites .
Behavorial Problem. Have you changed her diet if so put her back on her origional diet.Have you induced something into her staying and Or sleeping quarters. Use nonallergic shampoo,and flea treatment.purchase these only from a vet.

Yes, fleas and other skin conditions can cause this. I would take her to a vet ASAP. It is likely something bothering her skin.
If it is mental, give her LOTS of love and care.

Without knowing more it's hard to say. It could be either. Have the vet check for health issues and ask yourself if something is causing kitty stress. She's not crazy, she's showing you the only way she can that something is wrong.

I dont think so cats scratch when they have fleas, cats pull out hair when they are stressed.

Fleas can cause this as well as MANY other medical problems. Such as, skin disorders, stress, infections, and many more. Please take your kitty to the vet. The sooner you get her there and get her treated the sooner she will feel better.

yes. my cat has the same problem, the vet told me that fleas usuay are the cause of it, but he couldn't find any on her. he told me that i just need to discourage her from doing it whenever I catch her.
