The fulfillment of prophecy is the test a prophet. If the prophet is true then nothing can stop what was prophesied from happening.
The prophecies in the bible reveal man's sinful nature and the price that God paid for man's sin. God inspired holy men who wrote as the Spirit of God moved them and the whole bible, including the book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ, was written so that we could know him and repent of our sin, and turn from it, and come to him to be saved.

Every few years this comes up again; "The world is ending, see the similarities in the bible?"
Every generation is certain the world will end in their lifetime. None were right.
The bible is vague enough that its symbolism can be applied to basically anything (hence the many warring factions that all profess to follow it to the letter) so you can find revelations happening every day of the week. That's the con of the bible.
As much as you'd like to think you're not you, along with all the other humans on this planet are very, very, very, very small. Together, all of us can do very little to harm the planet. It will long outlive human society and will only be destroyed when the sun implodes billions of years from now, unless a rogue comet doesn't hit it first.
You, your friends, the idea of a jesus, none of them will ever have any affect on the Earth.
Don't believe me? Just ask Zeus. Or Ra. Or Quetzalcoatl. None of them seemed to have any affect on the life of the earth.

What makes you think it is coming true? What makes you think it will ever come true? People have been predicting the end of the world for a very long time. Generally if someone really wanted to a wide variety of events could be made to fit religious writings. Furthermore if something such as revelations could come true what makes you think that you or anyone else has the ability to stop it?

How do you expect to stop a being who created the entire universe? What can humans possibly do against something as powerful as God? And why do you want to stop it? This is not our true life, if your saved, you will spend eiternity in heavan with God. It will be much like Earth except without poverty, sicknes, crime, hate, hunger, death, and all the evil things of this world

How do we know for sure?
It might not be the Apocalypse. Maybe we are just in a little rut and things will improve.
Then again, we may be on the verge of Armageddon.
No one knows for sure really what's happening until its already happened.

It can't be stopped. Like the Crisifiction it was meant to be. The big question is which side will you take, will you take the WRONG side, will you take a side at all, will you be the Meek and avoid it all.
These things are all up to you. Do the wrong thing and you get the mark of the beast.

How do you stop "And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit." (Rev 9:1)

Because everyone doesn't "know" or believe that, and those who do believe don't want to stop it--it's what they've been waiting for.

Because the vast majority of us don't believe in Revelations. Incidentally, if you do, you might want to consult the history of this particular piece of writing. It might make you question your beliefs.
