If you mean get down really really low on their belly's low to the ground. I would have to say dogs "hunch" because they want to check things out before moving on . You know ..... Is it safe. .....

I suppose you mean Hump?
If so,yes its normal.Especially if she is starting to come into heat,if she feels the need to show "who's the boss" and if she really likes the scent of the object or animal she is humping..
Its a way to show "this is MINE"...since dogs dont talk,just watch them.You learn a whole lot.About human behavior too,in comparison.If you did not mean the word hump..I apologize.

Yes, my 2 year old female basset hound does it to both our male dogs. She does it to show them she is the alpha dog. She's very dominate towards them, but she rolls over when we approach her, which is a passive trait. Nothing to worry about.

Yes, they will do it when they want to breed.
Most female animals will do this to tell the male what they want.

I guess, our girl dog trys to hump our boy dog sometimes and it hasn't hurt her
