Because people are selfish. The woman wants to "do what she wants with her body" while forgetting about the BABY'S body. If you dont want something dont place the order. No birth control is foolproof. Dont engage in the pleasure if u dont want the treausure.

Because the baby comes out of the moms freakin butt, and in some cases it can be a risk for the mother. Also, how would they feel if a rapist wanted the baby. I'm a dude myself, and pro-choice is right, and while the man should have a say, it is ultimately up to the woman.

In many states all a woman has to do is leave her baby at a hospital, police or fire station and she does not even have to give her name. There is no excuse for murder. Legally the man has no say over abortion. He certainly has legal responsibility though if she decides to stick it to him. I as an Atheist have my own personal opinion in regards to the morality issue. I believe under certain circumstances abortion is perfectly moral. In case of Incest, Child Molestation, Rape, If the child will be borne deformed in mind or body. Or if the mothers life will be endangered then abortion should be morally acceptable. In any other case it is cold blooded murder. A mothers freedom of choice ended when she chose not to use a rubber when she had sex. Of course the Supreme Court decided against me and until they change their decision which may be never we will just have to live with it. xx

Why do so many a$$hole men (that's what I really meant) get to just walk away from the woman he got pregnant, and the child that will eventually result from the pregnancy? Don't say they always pay child support, because they DON'T. I have a friend who fought for 9 years to get it. My father got out of paying child support on me for 12 years, he also didn't help AT ALL in my upbringing.

I think the man should have a say if he wants the baby... but then again I don't think a man should tell a woman to have an abortion if she does not want to. Didn't some idiot take his girlfriend to court so that he would not have to pay child support because he wanted her to have an abortion so considered it not his responsibility?

Ideally it's a decision that is made by both partners in the relationship.
But if it comes down to "him versus her" guess what? SHE is the one whose body undergoes the physical and hormonal changes, so her vote carries more weight.
If there ever came a time that they made artificial incubators, then if a woman didn't want to carry the pregnancy to term, and the man wanted the baby, the pregnancy could be transferred to the artificial incubator.

I don't think the man in question shouldn't be a part of the decision making process. If he is a good man, he will help the woman make the decision and support her no matter the outcome.
I think that YOU have no right telling someone you do not know and have nothing to do with what they can or cannot do with their body.

the father has his say in deciding whether or not to impregnate.
to say a man does not have a choice is to say that a man has no self control.

I agree with you.
I'm pro-life, no matter what. (For those who insist on the "rape victim argument", hospitals will routinely "clean out" rape victims, as well as Plan B, which isn't abortion).
If the woman got pregnant during consentual sex, then yes, it IS her body, but it does not give her the right to kill of another person because of her selfishness of having to have control over her body. Yes, pregnancy brings about many physical changes, hormonal mood swings, weight gain, pain during childbirth, but guess what: they last NINE MONTHS. That's a fraction of time in the scheme of the world, and it's not a long time compared to having influence over the life of someone else. There are many other options available other than abortion, and yes, the man should have a say in his child's life.
