Possible to be in love & be in denial about it?

My friend thinks that's what is going on with a guy who's been a good friend to me & I like as more. It's a long story but there's really no reason for us to be talk & be friends anymore but he will never completely let go. He will go a couple of weeks before he calls but when he does he says he is super busy at work (he just started a new job) but he really does want to stay in touch with me. This last time I told him it won't hurt my feelings if he is 2 busy for me or has new friends that take up his time so he doesn't have to keep saying he'll be in touch if he doesn't really want (we spoke for 30 min). I've given him several chances 2 cut off all communication & he won't take them.

My friend thinks very strong feelings for me kind of snuck up on him & he didn't want to have feelings for anyone at this point in his life. He can't bring himself to act on those feelings or let me go.

So, denial or trying 2 not hurt me?

Hello :)

Well from my point of view it seems like he knows that you will be there even a couple of weeks later. It is time for you to find out if he really has those feelings for you or not! By doing the following if you are strong enough: First when he calls let the answer machine pick up and don't call him right away. Then when you do call ask him, "What's up you called"? Like nothing!!! Then if he asks you what you where or are doing, even if you are available let him know that you have made plans to go out. Try playing a little hard to get this way he knows that you won't be there any time he decided to call, and that you just might not be available for him. You will push him closer or if he is just playing with you he will then stop! Because now he will see you as a strong person who has a life other than being there whenever he decides to come back... :) Then again, just let him know how you feel and see his reaction. Then take it from there.

How could he be in denial if he's the one making an effort to call you,I don't think hes trying to hurt you, I think he might actually like you.You droping hints like "if he's to busy and all" is probably whats stoping him from calling more then he might want. He might think that if he loses you in life he losing something very good. I say if you want him in your life, Girl keep it!! Since your confused about the message he's sending you ask, okay .

Why are men like this? When a woman has a strong feeling, she can examine it, deal with it, and move on. When a man has a strong feeling, he has to shut down and call a committee meeting to find out what to do.

I shall never understand why men are like this, but yes, this man has feelings for you and doesn't quite know how to deal with them. It's quite possible that, because of all your brushoffs, he thinks that you don't like him. If you do like him, say so. If you don't like him, then don't take his calls or talk to him for 30 minutes. You're leading him on.
