Check out NY Waterway. They have ferries to and from Midtown Manhattan. Beginning Thanksgiving Day until january 7th kids 12 & under ride FREE! Once in midtown they have free shuttle buses which will take you anywhere in nyc. American Girl Place or toys r us, rockefeller center, central park (near wollman rink) or radio city to see the rockettes (if you buy tickets to the show, you'll ride free on the ferry)... ny waterway also provides packages which includes a harbor cruise around the island which you can combine w/ the following: 2 hour bus tour (hop-on/hop-off) or visit to the empire state building which offers a simulated sky ride) or movie/tv tours. You can check out madame tussaud's wax museum (bus takes you there too) & right near the wax museum is the BEST ice cream shop ever - the staff dances & sings while combining your fave ice cream flavor with actual cake -- it is YUUMMY!!!! Times Square would be a great sight to see for any kid... but if you have small children, the crowds can be a bit hectic -- I take my 2 year old on the ferry all the time & we beat the crowds in NY -- the buses take us exactly where we want to go too!

Sooo much to see and sooo much to do. The Christmas tree at Rockefeller center, ice skating under the tree at Rockefeller center or at Wollman's rink arena in Central park is also great to do. All the theaters and sites to take in at Christmas is awesome. The spirit is always strong in and about NYC, except for the snow that we need to keep spirits bright. So once in town in NYC, please enjoy and have as much fun as you possibly can.

I always love the Rockefellar Plaza at this time of the yr. Do not miss the Rockettes if you are out of towners.

And please, sound like a New Yorker; do not say Avenue of the Americas, call it 6th Ave, okay?

It's awful...packed with tourists. No New Yorker would do it.
