There are different treatment options for some who has SAD. One thing you can try is to pinpoint what triggers you to feel this way. Is it a thought, feeling, something someone says? Do you get cold hands, feet or get short of breath? Once you can see what is triggering the anxiety, you can being taking control. If you don't think you can pin point the trigger then go into treating each episode. What makes you relax? Do you like to read? Walk? Drive? Talk to a good friend? My friend who suffers from General Anxiety Disorder states that it stems from FEAR.... This person has read many self help books and you can look them up in a any book store in the self help section.
Another remedy is medication which is a decision that needs to be made after much research and thought. Usually a combination of medication and cognitive therapy (such as things I mentioned above) alleviate the symptoms and make them manageable.
I hope this has helped.

There are medications for anxiety but unfortunately doctors are reluctant to prescribe them. They want you to find ways to deal with it. My family doctor wouldn't prescribe anything but my psychiatrist did. You could probably use some counseling. Anxiety can be a symptom of depression. Zoloft is a antidepressant that helps with social anxiety. It does have bad sexual side effects. Don't know if that's important to you or not but if your anxiety is relieved by it you probably would rather have that.

well, with anxiety attacks, depending where I am is what I may do. Alone, I take a nap. With someone or in public, take deep breathes and go into restroom and wash off. If very strong, pray. I carry a Rosaery with me. Good luck. :-)

I have pretty much the same thing. Recently it has been getting pretty bad. My mom used to be a social worker, and she suggested that I see a psychologist. I'm not trying to offend you, but psychologists can give a lot of useful information and tools.

You probably need to see a psychiatrist, there are meds that help and the therapy to help you cope is important too. Have your doctor refer you to one. Good luck, it's not easy, but you can manage it.

Call a therapist, there is medication for that and you can get help. Don't be afraid to ask for help, admitting the issue is the first step to recovery.

Go see a doctor... because there are tons of medications and not all of them will work for you. You may not even need medication and maybe just the counseling will help =)
