I used to have a bad pimple/acne problem in my younger days, it used to drive me crazy until I learned how to control it.
There are many things first off that influence acne, it isn't all just grease and dirt. A lot of it is setting, where you live has an impact depending on the type of skin you have. My skin is naturally oily, and I live in a humid area, so naturally the humidity makes it very hard to control pimples. Whenever I go to a dry environment, pimples suddenly start to clear. Stress is another big factor, the more stressed you are, pimples start to show up. When you encounter stress, your body releases hormones and it ups the oil production on your face and body which certainly doesn't help. Changing these two things may help drastically. For stress, I'd suggest yoga, drinking tea and reading, any number of things. For humidity, you can get dehumidifiers that will dry the air and help clear out pimples at home.
Okay, now that being said, here is my way to control pimples. This has NEVER failed for me, ever, no matter how bad the pimples, how big, deep, or scarred. When I start to get bad breakouts, and I need to get clear them up in a day, and get rid of them in a day or two, I have a certain ritual I follow.
- First, I wash my face off, and scrub it gently with a washcloth, just to remove the oil from my face.
- Some people say not to "pop" pimples, but I believe it is important to get rid of any puss and bacteria that are in the pimple in order to properly clean your face. When I go at a pimple, I gently squeeze it, never forcing and never applying any pressure so it will hurt or swell.
- After that I wash my face in warm water again, no soap.
- Next, this is a very important step, you can use alcohol, but I really prefer male aftershave. Using either alcohol or aftershave, liberally cover your entire face in it, then let it dry. I usually repeat 2 - 3 times. This kills any bacteria that are on your face and in some pores, also it helps to dry up the pimples fast. The reason I prefer aftershave to alcohol is that aftershave is scented, but more importantly it has vitamins in it that are good for rebuilding damaged skin that alcohol just doesn't have. Ladies can use it too, and just don't have to tell anyone.
- After that, take a long, hot shower, I usually stay in 15-20 minutes. Do not scrub your face in the shower, just let the water wash off your face and the steam open up your pores and help clense.
- Once out of the shower, use aloe vera on your face, partly as a natural antiseptic for bacteria as well, but also as it quickly helps to heal pimples almost overnight, and definitly in a matter of two or three days.
*Regular aloe vera lotion is ok...but to get really fast, excellent results, I HIGHLY recommend using aloe vera oil extract. It simply is pure aloe vera oil, without the extra lotion in it. Usually lotions for me right after this ritual will bring back pimples, so yea aloe vera oil extract is the way to go.
This is a tried and true method for me, if I do this just once, my pimples are gone by the second day, or sometimes maybe the third. If you use the aloe vera, there usually isn't any scarring or anything like that for bad faces. For me, my pimple outbreaks usually are not that bad, and every time I get one, the next seems to be less and less worse. Again this method works for me, and gives me perfectly clear, non scarred, skin. It is usually dry for a day or so following it, but once the pimples disappear, lotion can be used to soften it again. Nobody can ever tell that I have had pimples, most are usually jealous at my clear skin, but that is my secret to getting it.

Walmart has a similar product to ProActive called Acne Free, it's way cheaper and it works just as well. I think it's about $15-$20 for the set. My only complaint about both the products is that the repairing lotion is drying so you will need to buy a good, light moisturizer and use that as well.

Anything with a decent amount of tea tree oil in it. You can find products like facial cleaner and moisturizer with it, or you can put pure tea tree oil on you skin. It may smell a little funky and be a bit pricey, but after a few days of use, it will start to to clear up a lot.

I'd say Carley's Clear & Smooth!!! Before you try anything, try Carley's Clear & Smooth first! It's CHEAPER & BETTER than Proactiv!! If you have severe acne, you have got to try their Industrial Strength Formula but if you have mild acne, try their original formula!!

Proavtive is very good. It's come down a lot in price now too. There's also a vitamin C serum called Nature's C Cret, but I've only seen one person with it on eBay.

Pure TEE TREE OIL. You can get a little bottle from the pharmacy in ur local grocery store even.
Just wash your face before bed, pat dry, then put a few drops of tee tree oil on the problem areas, in the morning it will be dried out, if you do this every evening for like a week u will see huge results. I reccomend applying it at night, as it does have a weird/natural smell, and it dries out the acne, so u may not want to be in public with a dry face. But let me tell u it works better than anything!

Anything with benzyol peroxide or salicylic acid works well. This is scientifically documented. Products need not be expensive - try Oxy 5. Also look for BHA products. Neutrogena has some. Orally you could take Accutane. This is a drug that has to be prescribed by your doctor. It works well but there are some minor side effects. You should ask your doctor if you are a suitable candidate.

If you really want to get rid of it for good, you have got to read this book. http://bambiberg.solution72.hop.clickbank.net/ However, if you won't actually follow through with what they advise, then don't bother wasting your time or money. However, if you are ready to make the changes the suggest, and they arent even that hard, then it will clear you up pretty quickly, and you won't have to waste any more money on creams and microderms...
