Yeah I know what you mean, but if you keep on going back to him then he knows that he has you. If need attention that bad then you might want to check your foundation of the relationship. You can really get it from anywhere or anybody you want too. You control that not him.

One thinks you're talking about being horny, needing sex.
First, guys who have seen you with your ex might think you're still together.
Second, most women are kind of demure about sex, and most men are a little put off by one that is aggressively seeking sex.
Third, if you're a gay man, you should say that in your question. Tough it out either way. Just stay celibate until you stop comparing other men to your ex. You will always find them inadequate by comparison, and/or you will seem too desperate.

Talk to him, make sure that he has, or at least in the prosses of changing his ways, but hold off on the special attention for a bit...what do think?

The relationship sounds like it was pretty up and down. Be patient to start a new relationship. Take time to get over one before you start another. Spend time with your friends and enjoy yourself!
