Im not sure what to do anymore. My family are so beautiful and supportive i really just want to feel normal again so i can stop disapointing them, but i cant. I feel like i dont deserve my life. I have been thinking alot about suicide and hurting myself, i am a christian and would never do this but i cant get these thoughts out of my head. I have not always felt this way, but a couple of months ago i started having these really bad anxiety attacks and couldnt get these strange thoughts out of my head. It never went away and now i feel like I am two totally different people. Everyone thinks i am me, i still feel like me sometimes but most of the time i am living in a nightmare, in a different persons body. I want my life back! What should i be doing? Thankyou

if your anxiety attacks just starting "popping up" without trauma of some sort triggering them...you might have a DID or something. if you have alot of out of body experiences, that could be the explanation. I have it and sometimes its like, i know what im doing but i dont..like im not doing it but i know i am. its really confusing but if you want to talk send me a message and ill give you my IM. If your a christian just pray that you will feel better..everything happens for a reason. it might just be stress.

I am a Christian also. I also worked as a RN on a psychiatric unit for 22 years. The symptoms that you describe, especially the thoughts of suicide, are symptoms of depression. You need to see a doctor right away,

Because of the thoughts of suicide you need to be started on an antidepressant. Because you are a Christian, you will probably have some people tell you to think about all the positive things in your life or that you should pray and have faith.

Those things are said by people who are well meaning but ignorant about the disease, depression. Whatever has caused the depression, now, there are levels of 1 or more chemicals in your brain that have gotten too low and are causing your symptoms.

This is not necessarily a forever type of thing. You may benefit from also seeing a psychologist that also is a Christian.

If you broke a bone in your leg you would go to a doctor to have it set. If your doctor diagnossed you with diabetes you would accept the medication he prescribed for you. This is the same type of thing.

I am sorry that you are having to go through this. I have been depressed and experienced the same symptoms that you describe. It is like living a nightmare! I wish that I could take all of your problems away but I can't. I will pray for you.

The good news on a earthly level is that you can have your life back! With the proper medication and with a good counselor, you should be feeling much, much better.

Be patient with the medications. You have to wait for your blood levels of the medication to get high enough for your symptoms to get better. Also, the first medication that the doctor prescribes may not be the one that is right for you.

Well for the short term put a rubber band around your and every time you have a suicidal thought say stop to yourself and pull back on the rubber band. The pain will interrupt your thought process long enough for you to change your thinking. Keep doing this until you get to the point where you don't need the rubber band and the simple stop will do. Eventually you may not even need that. Now a rubber band around the wrist will do nothing unless you enter therapy. If the suicidal thoughts are really bad and cycle around I would suggest a hospital day program. The only issue is one would need to take a leave of absence from work to attend. Intensive therapy could be very helpful. If that is not for you at least get a psychiatrist and a psychologist. There are medications including anti-psychotics that can stop suicidal thinking patterns. However medication alone is not enough and that is why therapy is important. Always if you think you may act on one of your horrible thoughts and make it a reality go to the ER and do not pass go.Thoughts are just thoughts, but the second they want to enter the real world is the second you need to go to hospital.

It's normal to have these feelings in your situation. It's pretty easy to feel like just giving up when everyone and everything seems to give up on you. You're young and you are a sensitive person. Some people can just blow stuff like that off and move on, while others tend to feel bad and drown in their woes. I think your biggest problems right now are... A) Low self esteem B) Just plain dissapointment with life in general. You need to first realize that you aren't crazy or defective. However, you need to think more highly of yourself and realize that you deserve to be on this earth as much as anybody. You deserve happiness and good relationships. Once you truly admit this to yourself, the people that you have let break your spirit won't matter anymore because they do not love you for the great person that you are. You also need to feel as though you have a purpose. Do you have something you once loved to do? (Drawing, writing, sports, music, etc?) Try to start doing those things again, even if you don't want to. You will feel better about yourself and those other people won't matter. Boys at your age just plain suck. They are immature, they are not aware of the damage they do to young girl's hearts. I know it is very hard, but you can make it. Realize that if he doesn't care about you, he really isn't worth it!!! Look up EFT on youtube. It will seem very wierd and phony at first, but it is a useful technique that can help you get rid of your bad feelings. Just give it a try, it does help. Otherwise, keep your head held up high and realize that you are worth it. You are on this earth for a reason, you have a right to be here. Don't let other people make you feel dead inside.

The thoughts you are having are not in any way normal and need to be dealt with. They don't make you bad! You just need to reach out and get help! You say you have a beautiful and supportive family...let them help you through this. It only takes a split second to do something that you can't take back and destroy your family. This is not only about you...my grown daughter told me the best gift God has ever given her is having me reach out to her when the thoughts of suicide came back after a failed attempt 6 years ago. Please see a doctor immediately. It is nothing to be ashamed of and does not mean you will be on medication for the rest of your life. God will see you through it...

I'm very sorry to hear that you're going through a rough time. My advice to you is to seek professional help from a mental health professional like a psychiatrist who can evaluate you and diagnose your problem. Talk to your family members about your feelings and ask for their support. Pray to the Lord for his comfort. God Bless, Merry Christmas!

You should talk to some one. like a psycologist. If you don't know why you feel this way then they could probably help you, I have known people who have said the same, but eventaully pulled through to live a happy life.....feel free to email me if you like,We could share some of these problems, but definately... get some help.

Depending on your age, anti-depressants seem to be in order with some psychothapy...However, if your in your late teens or so, get to a Dr. fast....and listen to what he recommends. If you hear voices...don't hide that fact...be open and all the help you need will be there.

first of all-----------RELAX.
i'm not sure why this may be happening, but--very often we experience stuff because our subconcious is acting out things that our concious mind has no clue about.
try relaxing then talking to yourself like--'Why are you sad?'-identify WHY you wanna die. sometimes we aren't even sad for the reason we think we are.it takes time.
if this doesn't help----go see some therapist ---but----please don't ever kill yourself---life is worth it.
