I know blood can transmit the virus, but i was wandering if say, you swallowed blood, you could be infected or if it would have to go directly into your bloodstream by needle or two open wounds rubbing together.
any idea?

If you have an open wound in your mouth (scratch, rash etc.) and the blood you swallow gets in contact with it, there's is a great probability you'll get infected.

As with saliva, yes, you can contract HIV if you swallow it, but you would need to swallow a lot to contract it. If you have only swallowed a little I would still get checked but I wouldn't worry too much.

You can get it through blood and body fluids. Period. However it gets into your body it is still getting into your body.
