I don't know if you could call this a dream/nightmare. This happens like once a week...or twice, it has no real pattern. This is how it goes; I go to bed, usually very tired, and at the exact time when I'm about to fall asleep...something happens. A very weird feeling of numbness surrounds my whole body and I lose control of everything except my eyes. As hard as I may try, I cannot move my hands, feet, fingers, or even my head. I can only move my eyes vertically. Ever time this happens, I try to scream at the top of my lungs but NOTHING is coming out..my mouth is wide open as well, due to my efforts at screaming. I think i am fully concious at the time, I can think straight. I always open my eyes and see the grey wall next to me, then i turn my head to the door nob to my left, not being able to do anything. When I finally regain control of my body, it's all numb...i bearly even feel it's existance, this is something i would do anything to get rid of. Sorry for the wall of text. Ideas?

I forgot to mention, i DO feel like there is another "being" in the room. I don't see it, but i feel it behind me in a corner of the room. It outright feels like the devil himself came to get me with a bunch of demons, thank it's just a medical condition though...or mental.

Sleep paralysis was your best answer...But

The comment about meds to help...not good, but correct. The most often prescribed med, high blood pressure meds. Side effects include "NO DREAMS". Been there, done that...for chronic nightmares. The nightmares were easier to deal with, than the sudden drop in BP and the immediate face first plant into the floor that followed when standing up too quickly.

Sleep paralysis...due to not sleeping regular hours. Most often during this phase of being not able to move..there is a universal feeling of something at the bottom of the bed, or something crawling on top of you...a terrifying experience....and believe it or not, there has been research on proving that the "hag", or whatever your imagining... is REAL. There is a simple pill to take once, that corrects your sleep mechanism. You ARE conscious but stuck in rem sleep at the same time. See your Doctor.

This is called Sleep Paralysis...and it is absolutely terrifying. I found a couple of things that were causing mine. Sleep deprivation and Ginseng being the main. I have also had prescription sleep aids cause it. Keep a journal of when it happens and what is different about those nights as far as sleep patterns, what you have ingested, etc. Hope this helps and good luck!

my friend gets that too. His is even worse though. His paralysis is accompanied by the feeling of someone in the room and a hand touching him. He though he was being abducted by aliens. It was pretty crazy. But it only happened to him one every 6 months or so. You should definately see a doctor

This might be seizures. Seizures can be uncontrollable shaking or just not recollecting what happened in some time period, or what you describe. Definitely see a doctor. Have you ever tried staying up until after the time you usually experience this symptom? See what happens. Good luck!

Has something happened in your childhood (tramatic etc...)?

If no, is there a period that nobody every talks about...
you would be surprised at what your brain will do when it feels it is missing something. (period of time or parts of it).

Some parents think something (even stupid things) will mess with their kids heads and simply never refer to it and then dreams like this happen trying to tell you some part, but its reaching and blank.

Ask your parents, siblings, family about your past first and go from there.

Sounds like you have night terrors. Being unable to move or scream is a common symptom. See a sleep disorder specialist to help treat this.
