The recepie is from my bfs family but for some reason the dough will not go through the cookie press. I followed exact directions but it still is to hard. Any ideas or any other good butter cookie recepies?

Roll out the dough and use cookie cutters. I have bought at least 3 cookie presses and only one works.

I looked at 10 recipes and every one said to roll into balls and press the dough down, that got me thinking that this dough is not for a cookie press

Doughs too thick.Some cookie presses can handle thicker dough than other brands.
