Well, the Bible says that man became a living soul at Genesis 2:7, so, it eventually turns back to dust. For dust you are and to dust you will return.

Soul is sort of an abstract term. Ancient peoples were trying to personify the conscience, the human though and so on. We don't have a soul.
Human thought on the other hand, ceases to exist.

You are your soul ... that's you.
And, the soul never goes, the 99 year old body does... so what? It is not the end of the life, which is all around us and in us.

A person's souls state is dependent on whether that one accepts the sacrifice Jesus made when he died on the cross for one's sins or not. If that one does not accept it that soul goes to hell. IF that one does accept then it goes to heaven. And then soul will be joined with body to be judged by God.
For those who said we were made of dust , you are right but God also breathed His Spirit (soul) into man.

your soul wonders into its eternal destiny. People thinkthe go to hell right away but it's not the case, we all have to face God on judgment day, and once He through Jesus Christ determine where our eternal home will be and once Satan is cast into the lake of fire, everybody else who denied Jesus and didn't accept Him in their hearts will go to the place of weeping and gnashing of teeth. Ooooohhh but the ones who did the will of the Father, my God said there will be a new heaven and a new Earth coming, where there will be no sea, or sun. Because the glory of God will become light to His people. And we shall live in the land promised forever. WOW

If by "soul" you mean spirit then I think it goes to heaven or "the other side." I don't believe there is a hell. I think life is our hell. Our spirits go to a much more peaceful place when we die.

IT lays in the ground and rots, your spirit returns to God who sent it, and he will in the end recreate your soul as well

im not sure if its a soul or what you call it but i belivee that there is a 4th demantion my mom has almost dies but the doctors got her to life and she seen it a bit.. they r my heros and ways ive seen spirits kind ones at my friend's house so there are souls, trust me

I do discern that if you were save by Jesuschrist the son of God our Creator, must unquestionably once you breathe your last breath you’ll go to heaven. No doubt on the subject of it.
