Because if people disbelieve any theory then they have to accept the reality of Christ and deal with the truth of the matter... All mankind has sin and the only way to be saved is by accepting what Christ did for our sins. And many don't want to do that. So they grab at any theory to justify their sins etc.

First, no-one takes it completely literally. Not even Dan Brown.
Next, your explanation is completely faulty. No-one said DaVinci was around at the last supper. The book doesn't say that either. The book says that DaVinci used the painting of the last supper to convey a message. That's possible; whether it's probable or not is up to conjecture.
Like other writers of fiction, Dan Brown wrote a book that would cause people to question, not to necessarily believe. He wasn't writing a Bible, only a book which might cause people to examine what exactly it is they believe. If the Bible is strong enough to stand on it's own when confronted by a work of fiction such as The DaVinci code, then what do Christians have to worry about.
Lastly, in which verse, in which verse of the Bible did Jesus say he fathered no children?

Why do people think that "spare the rod, spoil the child" means that you should beat your children? People are malleable and gullible and therefore have a tendency to take as factual anything that they see in print. I hope that you will not make this mistake. Many of the greatest writings of all time are metaphorical, not literal. I don't think Harry Potter can really walk through walls but I do believe there is a message to be learned from his stories.
Matthew, Mark, Luke and John also had an imaginative way of getting their point across. As did Genesis in the First Testament. But I don't think that Jesus ever intended for parents to beat their children with sticks.

In a word, ignorance. The authors took a small bit of truth and embellished it into an almost believable sequence of events. People who are less than completely steadfast in their faith and "searching" for answers are easily drawn in by a good story. There are a few facts sprinkled in here and there which makes the whole thing make sense. Interestingly, the book is classified as a novel...fiction. Yet it is realistic enough to raise questions in the minds of readers so they make conclusions based on fictitious claims. Eventually, they begin to believe it themselves and promote it to others who are ignorant. A cultist movement is born.

Um, sorry, but Da Vinci *did* paint the last supper...
The question the book raises is where he got the information he used to lay out the characters in the painting, but he did paint it.
Yes, the book is fictional. But it's based on lots of real things -- the Knights Templar (real), Priory of Sion (real, but secret so what their actual purpose was isn't certain -- Dan Brown made his purpose for them up). That jesus was married -- not certain, but a lot of evidence supports the idea. The "sang real" (French name for the holy grail) meaning the "royal bloodline" -- real. That jesus had children -- again, not known for sure, but there is evidence to support it.
One reason the book and movie are so compelling is that Brown's fiction was woven around so many actual events and legends. Yes, it IS fiction, but it's so tied to existing legend that it's compelling because it *could* be real.
Oh, and jesus never said he didn't have any of his own children...better go back and read your bible :)

no you've faith in a fiction e book yet there are somethings Dan Brown has written that have been in line with actual info. Dan Brown wasn't the 1st to come again up with the thought that Jesus replaced into married and all. different historians have written non-fiction books (like the "The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail" via Michael Baigent, Richard Leigh, and Henry Lincoln) on their examine and info they have got here upon helping their hypothesis. I agree that area the place he says the bible has been written like 4 hundred years after and has been replaced to healthful the writers' attitude. you do no longer ought to study to the Da Vinci Code to realize the inconsistencies interior the bible and the reality that particular issues have purposely ignored.

People want to beleive. Isn't that obvious. Culture is based on the idea that everyone "beleives." ex. This diet pill will melt fat off you like butter, this computer is so much faster than this one, you aren't good enough etc. And people beleive this. They think it's cool, so people take it too far and start "invesitgating" all these meaningless stuff. It's so stupid when my friends get so excited about the movie and the book. It's a book people. A BOOK. That's it. Not real life. Thank you and have a good day.

Well, on the contrary, Dan Brown states in his book that all documents are accurate. Yes, his book is fiction, but it's based on real groups/organizations. There r ppl who really believe that Jesus was married. Da Vinci wasn't suppose to hv bn there at Jesus' time, he was someone who the secret was passed down to. Either way, it's a fantastic book!

READ THIS
THATS JSUT THE SURFACE WORK BUT HERE IS A BETTER REASON NOT TO BELEIVE:
1. THE MAIN POINT IN THIS BOOK IS THE GNOSTIC GOPELS. YOU SHOULD NOT BELEIVE THSES B/C THEY LACK ANY TRUTH OR HISTORICAL FACT. SO THEREFORE THEY ARE NOT GOSPELS!!
2. THESE GNOSTIC DOC. ARE LATE DATED AND HAVE NO EYEWITNESSES.
3. FRAGMENTED COPIES
4. IT HAS NO HISTORICAL PEOPLE PLACES OR EVENTS ACCURATELY.
IN THIS BOOK BROWN ALSO CLAIMS THAT JESUS WAS ANTI- FEMALE. WHICH IS COMPLETELY NOT TRUE B/C JESUS TAUGHT MAN = WITH WOMEN AND HE SPOKE TO A SAMARITAN WOMEN AND SHO WERE THE FIRST PEOPLE TO SEE JESUS REAISE FROM THE DEAD?? EXACTLY A WOMEN.
DAN BRWON THROUGHOUT THIS BOOK TRIES TO RELATE THE DAVINCE CODE AND THE GNOSTIC WORKS, WHEN REALLY THE BOOK IS CONTRARY TO THESE WORKS.
THEN PEOPLE TRY TO DAY THAT HTYE WERE LEFT OUT, BUT THAT IN NONSENCE, THEY WERE NOT CONSIDERED CUZ THEY WERE NOT AROUND.
ALSO BROWN CLAIMS THAT JESUS WAS NOT DIVINE, WHICH GOES AGAINST EVERY THIGN THAT THE GNOSTIC WORKS SAY THEY SAY THAT JESUS WAS SUPER DIVINE!!!!
ALSO PEOPLE THINK THAT THE GNOSTIC WORKS WERE SUPPRESSED WHEN IN REALITY THEY WERE WERE CONSIDERED THEN REJECTED FOR STUPIDITY. PROOF: IRENAUS OF LYON.
BOTTOM LINE DAVINCE CODE IS THE DUMBEST GARBAGE I HAVE EVER READ IT BRINGS UP NO GOOD AND ACCURATE POINTS. ALSO THE GNOSTIC WORKS ARE RIDICULOUS.

Actually, they say in the movie, Da Vinci painted his Last Supper painting on his interp of the Last Supper (probably by looking at different artist's paintings of the Last Supper). I bet you those things about his painting were true, like if you switch the female and Jesus around they're hugging or w/e.
